WHIPPLE

MR. ALBERT H. WHIPPLE, age 69, of Menlo, Georgia passed away Friday, July 3, 2015, morning at his residence.

            Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Earle Rainwater Funeral Home.


Mrs. Elaine Holloway Mitchell

MRS. ELAINE HOLLOWAY MITCHELL, age 66, of Railroad Circle, Summerville, Georgia, Pennville Community, passed away Friday afternoon in a Rome hospital.  She was born in Chattooga County, Georgia on April 20, 1949, to the late Arnold and Martha Janette Wilson Holloway.  Mrs. Mitchell was retired from the sort & grind department of Mohawk Mill and a member of the Harbor Light Baptist Church.  She was preceded in death by husband, the late Harvey Eugene Mitchell on August 23, 2008.

            Surviving are daughters & spouses, Denise & Gary Rose of Chattanooga and Christy & Christopher Crump of Summerville; sons & spouses, Joey & Gretchen Mitchell of Ringgold, Dennis & Tammie Mitchell of Lebanon, Tn., and Jason Mitchell of Summerville; sisters, Imogene Cook, Peggy Pierce, Deviah Gilliland all of Summerville , and Jody Morrison of Lyerly; grandchildren, Kai Mitchell, Corey & Josie Lamb, Bruce, Shawn, & Austin Hicks; Five Great Grandchildren; several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

            Funeral services will be held Monday, July 6th, at 2:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home, with Pastor Dwight Wilson officiating, interment in West Hill Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers Kevin Gilliland, Lamar Gilliland, Toby Morrison, Scott Cook, Tim Pierce, Greg Cook, and Kelly Henderson; Honorary Pallbearers, Amedysis Home Health and Redmond Regional Respiratory.  The Family will receive friends Sunday from 6 until 8 P.M. at the Funeral Home.

Mrs. Ann Current

MRS. ANN CURRENT, age 88, of Cottonwood Street, Summerville, Georgia passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2015, morning in a Rome hospital.  Born in Berryton, Georgia on May 16, 1927, She was a daughter of the late Arthur P. and Martha Chapman Rich.  Mrs. Current attended the Living Waters Ministeries, and was retired textile creeler.

            Surviving are husband, Tony Eugene Current; son, Billy Ray Hunter of Summerville; brothers, J. T. Rich of Summerville and David Rich of Trenton; seven Grandchildren, seven Great Grandchildren; several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

            Funeral services will be held Friday, July 3rd, at 4:00 P.M. from Living Waters Ministries, with Rev. Tony Current and Rev. Billy Wright officiating, interment in Summerville Cemetery.  The Family will receive friends Thursday, from 4 until 8 P.M. at Living Waters Ministries.

Mrs. Willa D. Gilreath

MRS. WILLA D. GILREATH, age 93, of Tarrytown, Georgia, formerly of Trion, Georgia passed away Thursday morning in a Vidalia, Georgia health care.  She was born in Fort Payne, Alabama, to the late Moses Lathan and Addie Pruitt Locklear on January 22, 1922.  Mrs. Gilreath was preceded in death by husband, the late John B. Gilreath, Sr. on December 2, 2006.

            Surviving are sons and spouses, John, Jr. and Cindi Gilreath of Tarrytown  and Kenneth and Jennifier Gilreath of Summerville; brother, Arnold Locklear of Dalton; grandchildren, Jeremy & Angel Gilreath, Jody & Haley Gilreath, Jenni Ely, Holly & Greg Gipson, Dustin & Devin Gilreath; great grandchildren, Rose Marie Gipson, Charlee Ely, Robin Gipson, Hadlea & Paisley Gilreath also survive.

            Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 27th, at 4:00 P.M. from Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Dr. Warren Moorehead officiating, interment in West Hill Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers Taylor Knott, Sammie Locklear, Daniel Lanier, Jody Gilreath, Jeremy Gilreath, and Greg Gipson.  The Family will receive friends Saturday from 2 P.M. until the hour of service Saturday at the Funeral Home.

Mr. David Jones

MR. DAVID JONES, age 66, of John Jones Road, Gore Community, Summerville, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2015, in a Rome hospital. A native of Chattooga County, He was born to the late John S. and Montine Shackelford Jones, on November 11, 1948. Mr. Jones was a lifetime member of Bethel Presbyterian Church, was a Education Administrator, having served as principle of the Summerville Middle School and Chattooga County High School. He was a passionate outdoorsman and advocate for working with the Homeless Shelter and Food Bank.

     Surviving are wife Shelli Payne Jones, brother Sam Orr Jones, both of Gore Community, and fourteen God Children.


     A Private service will be held at a later date.


     In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Homeless Shelter and/or Bethel Presbyterian Cemetery Fund.

Mrs. Edith M. McCollum

MRS. EDITH M. McCOLLUM, age 86, of Trion, Georgia passed away Saturday evening at her residence.  A native of Fayetteville, Tennessee, She was born to the late Tom and Zula Hall Morrow on February 16, 1929.  Mrs. McCollum was a member of the Trion First Baptist Church and a homemaker.  She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Clifford “Tip” McCollum, June 25, 2014.

            Surviving are daughter & companion, Ann McCollum and Terry Hawkins of Trion; son & daughter-in-law, John W. and June McCollum of Kensingston; grandchildren, Emily & Travis Poole and Laura & Steven Butler, great grandson, Noah Butler, special nephew, Greg Morrow

            Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 24th, at 2:00 P.M. from the Trion First Baptist Church with Pastor Casey Bramlett officiating, interment in West Hill Cemetery, active pallbearers David Dunwoody, Brian Quintrell, Billy Quintrell, Thomas Morrow, Terry Evans, Britt Evans. The Family will receive friends Wednesday from 1 P.M. until the service hour at the Church.  Flowers are accepted or contributions to a charity of choice.
