COX

MRS. ALICE MAE EVERETT COX, age 84 of Summerville, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, October 22, 2025. Mrs. Cox was born on April 27, 1941 in Chattooga County, Georgia to the late Noel Everett and Coraine Touchstone Everett. She was of the Methodist faith and loved talking with people and never met a stranger. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John William Cox; daughter, Jennifer Dianne Cox; brothers, Clinton Everett, John Everett, and Charlie Everett.

Survivors include her daughter, Mary John Cox Hendrix, (Shane Hendrix), and two grandchildren Ava Hendrix and John Hendrix.

Graveside and interment services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Alice Mae Cox will be held at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery on Saturday, October 25th at 3 p.m. with Rev. Wes Privett officiating. The family will receive friends at Earle Rainwater Funeral Home Saturday from 1:30 p.m. until the hour of her service. Active Pallbearers Shane Hendrix, John Hendrix, Tom Everett, Chuck Cox, Paul Jones, and Joseph McGinnis; Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Chattooga Senior Center. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Summerville First United Methodist Church at P.O. Box 187 Summerville, Georgia 30747 or the charity of your choice.

MS. DANETTE LUCILLE SUTTLES, age 66, of Summerville, Georgia, passed away Tuesday afternoon, October 14, 2025, in the local nursing home. She was born on January 3, 1959, to the late Daniel Austin and Eunice Christopher Austin, who survives. Danette was retired bookkeeper for Knoxville Seed Company.

Surviving are Her mother, Eunice Austin; daughter, Kassie Suttles; son, Zackery Suttles; sister, Angela Copeland; Five Grandchildren; One Niece.

EVANS

TANJA JO EVANS, age 63, of Wellington, Alabama, formerly of Chattooga County, Georgia, passed away Sunday, October 12, 2025, at her residence following an illness. Tanja was born on January 20, 1962 in Rome, Georgia to the late Frank Joe Evans and the late Helen Marie Ingram Tucker. She formerly worked security for Mount Vernon Mills and was retired from water heater production for A. O. Smith Company.

Surviving are Her Companion, Nancy Hunt; Nieces and Nephews, Deanna Hines, Amber Cothran, Michael Lyons, and Stephen Little.

Graveside and interment service will be Friday, October 17th, at 1:00 P.M. from West Hill Cemetery in Trion with the Reverend Harold Helton officiating. Active pallbearers Randy Teems, William Hunt, Michael Lyons, Merrick Touchstone, Carson Keen

JENNINGS

MR. RANDY GENE JENNINGS, age 63, of Piedmont Avenue, Summerville, Georgia, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, October 9, 2025 in Trion, Georgia. Mr. Jennings was born in Rome, Georgia on December 7, 1961 son of the late Rev. Charles Joel Jennings, Jr. and Mary Faye Morris Jennings. He was retired hyster driver for Roper Corporation. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers the late Charles Joel Jennings, III and John Harold Jennings.

Surviving are his wife, Jan Jennings; daughters, Amy (Joshua) Riddle and Tiffany (Skyler) Ledford; son, Joseph Wallin; sisters, Brenda Faye Morgan, Rose Marie Walker, Martha Ware, and Mary Stegall; seven grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 12th, at 3:30 p.m. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. Don Mason and Mr. Skyler Ledford officiating, interment in Summerville Cemetery. Active Pallbearers, Matthew Hamby, Reuben Brock, Jeff Kirby, Joshua Riddle, Jordon Riddle, Sammy Hamby, Jr., and Rickey Morgan. The Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home Sunday from 1:30 p.m. until the hour of service. The Family request no flowers and ask for contributions for funeral expenses.
