MRS. RUBY B. SALLEY, age 99, of Nixon Street-Summerville, Georgia passed away Friday, July 26, 2013, in the local nursing home. A native of Walker County, Georgia, She was born to the late Lee and Lemmie Hood Baker on July 11, 1914. Mrs. Salley received her BS Degree from West Georgia College and Master Degree from Berry College; during and after Mrs. Salley taught school in the Chattooga School system for many years, She was a member of Kappa Kappa Iota and the Horizon Baptist Fellowship. Mrs. Salley also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of the Confederacy, the Chattooga County Garden Club, was an Emeritus Judge of the National Garden Club, member of the Chattooga County Garden Club, and member of the Chattooga County Historical Society. She was preceded in death by husband, John Salley in 1992 and daughter, Mary Salley in 1998, sisters-Dorothy Beatrice Baker Cawthon in 2008 and Ellen Louise Baker in 1937. Memorial service will be held Friday, August 2nd, at 3:00 P.M. from the Horizon Baptist Fellowship with Dr. Jerry Mahan officiating. MR. RALPH CLAYTON WILSON, age 54, of Highland Avenue, Summerville, Georgia passed away Saturday (July 20, 2013) morning in a Rome hospital. Born in Walker County, Georgia on August 25, 1958, He was a son of the late Danny Clayton and Barbara Boyd Wilson. Mr. Wilson attended the Church of God and was formerly employed by Mohawk Industries, Lyerly Plant. Surviving are His devoted wife of 25 years, Sandra Wilson; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Tina and Bryan Sitton; nieces-Beth Kellett and Shanda Pena; nephews-Jacob Sitton, and Dale Kellett; special friends-Amanda and Roger Sitton and Dean Cornett; several other family members also survive. A Memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 24th, at 12 noon from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Mr. Tim Dover officiating. MRS. SYBIL MERSHON, age 82, of Orchard Hill Road-Summerville, Georgia passed away Thursday (July 18, 2013) morning in the local nursing home. A native Chattooga Countian, She was born to the late John Henry and Allie Jo Robinson Dooley on October 29, 1930. Mrs. Mershon was a homemaker, member of Highland Avenue Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by two sons the late Paulie Mershon and the late Roger Mershon. Surviving are one sister-Jessie Penland of Trion; several Nieces and Nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 19th, at 5:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Pastor Barry Brown officiating, interment in Summerville Cemetery. MR. CHARLES RAY LIVELY, age 65, of Lyerly, Georgia passed away Wednesday morning at His residence. Born in Walker County, Georgia on March 9, 1948, He was a son of the late Leonard Lee and Lucille Dial Lively. He was a member of Teloga Baptist Church and retired supervisor for Roper Corp. Surviving are His wife-Virginia Lively; children-Kerri Lively of East Ridge, TN., Eddie Lively of LaFayette, Darlene and Kevin Scoggins of Summerville, Alan Simpson of Lyerly, Bonnie Hollingsworth of Trion, and Jeff and Anita Simpson of Lyerly; grandchildren-Adam and Tina Lee, Crystal and Jeremy Elrod, Nicole Cooper, Raven and Matt Rosson, Amanda and Chris Watson, Rani Lively, Keisha and Trey Simpson; several Great Grandchildren; sisters-Leahman Ponder and Elizabeth Long both of LaFayette, Judy Lively of FL.; brother-Alan Lively of LaFayette; several Nieces and Nephews. MR. CHARLES EUGENE WILLIAMS, age 46, of Summerville, Georgia passed away Friday, July 12, 2013, in a Rome hospital. A native of LaFayette, Georgia He was born on September 3, 1967 a son of Charles Edward Williams and Mahala Snyder Williams, who both survive. Mr. Williams was retired from law enforcement and retail sales and was a former National Guardsman. He was preceded in death by a daughter the late Latisha Faith. Surviving are His wife-Tracie Ann Prince Williams; father-Charles Edward Williams of LaFayette; mother- Mahala Snyder Williams of Lafayette; children-Heather Williams & spouse Jeremy Starr, Trace Anthony Nassar and Robert Alexander Nassar; Daughter-in-law Erin Shoptaw all of Ark; sister-Angelia Lucille Gruber; brothers-Jeff Alan Williams and Curtis Edward Williams all of LaFayette; Six Grandchildren; several Nieces and Nephews. Linda I. Bankey

MISS Linda I. Bankey, age 74, of Trion, Georgia, passed away Tuesday morning, July 2, 2013, in a local Nursing Home. Miss Bankey was born in Trion, GA March 9, 1939, a daughter of the late Henry Joseph and Anita Mae Fralick Bankey. She was Baptist by Faith and retired from the Veterans Administration. Survivors include a sister and brother-in-law: Martha Raye Bankey and Glenn De Biasio of Novato, CA; Aunt- Lavergne “Toots” Archer of Largo, FL; Cousins- Frank Archer, Janice Kay, Amy Hardeman, Paul Hardeman, Jessie Ann Hardeman, Wayne Bankey. Betty J. Pool

MRS. BETTY JEAN POOL, age 81, of Summerville, Georgia passed away Monday, July 1, 2013, in a Rome hospital. Mrs. Pool was born in Clay County, Alabama March 13, 1932 a daughter of the late John and Edith Britt Graben. Mrs. Pool was retired from food service in Chattooga County Schools, a member of Summerville First Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by her husband the late Clentis M. Pool on February 22, 2008. Surviving are daughters- Teresa Reynolds and Renita Tucker both of Summerville; Karen Casey of Jacksonville, Al; Son-Jeff Pool of Decatur, Al. Grandchildren- Kenneth C. Tucker, Jeffery Pool, Jonathan Pool; sisters-Carolyn Smith of Lineville, AL. and Helen Norred of Ashland, AL.; brother-Jack Graben of Barfield, AL.; several Nieces and Nephews also survive.
