Mrs. Carolyn Kidder Farrar

MRS. CAROLYN (KAY) KIDDER FARRAR, age 97, of Atlanta, Georgia, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2019 at The Fountainview Center.  She was born on December 5, 1921in Portland, Maine and a daughter of the Emmis Nivling and Myron Daniel Kidder.  Mrs. Farrar was preceded in death by her husband, William Baker Farrar of Summerville, and sisters, Alison Kidder Choate and Frances Kidder Quaritius

            Kay was devoted to her family and is lovingly remembered by daughters, Carolyn (Lyn) Nivling Farrar of Tucker, Georgia, Susan Adams Farrar of Atlanta, Georgia, and Nancy Farrar Halden of Sandy, Utah; grandchildren, Nicholas Edgar Halden, Virginia Ann Halden, and Derek Scott Halden; several Nieces and Nephews.

            Graveside service will be held Thursday, August 29th, at 11:00 A.M. at Summerville Cemetery with Rev. Chris Moore-Keisk officiating.  Active Pallbearers will be Arch Farrar, Kelly Jordan, Mark Estabrook, and Joel Bulit. The Family will receive friends from 10 A.M. until the service hour, at Earle Rainwater Funeral Home.  A memorial service will be held in the chapel of First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta on Saturday, August 31 at 11 A.M.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Cure Alzheimer’s Fund; 34 Washington St., Suite 310; Wellsley, MA 02481 or donate@curealz.org

DAWSON

MR. BOBBY EUGENE DAWSON, age 84, of Red Oak Road, Summerville, Georgia passed away Saturday, August 10, 2019, at his residence.  A Native Chattooga Countian, He was born to the late Frank Jennings and Frances Elizabeth Floyd Dawson on June 11, 1935.  He was retired truck driver for Spriggs Paving Company and a Veteran of the U. S. Army serving in Korea.  Mr. Dawson was preceded in death by Parents and brothers, the late David Dawson and the late George Floyd Dawson.

            Surviving are daughter, Elizabeth Ann Campbell; sisters, Frankie Gordon and Jan (Harold) Ragland; brother, Joe Dawson; grandsons, Cody Campbell and William Campbell; great grandchildren, Braycen Campbell and Haegan Campbell; several Nieces and Nephews.

            Graveside service will be held Monday, August 12th, at 11:00 A.M. from Greenhills Memory Garden with Pastor Sammy Barrett officiating.  Active Pallbearers Cody Campbell, William Campbell, Brandon Brown, and Jimmy Bell.

Mrs. Sara Mae Wester

MRS. SARA MAE WESTER, age 87, of Maplewood Apartments, Summerville, Georgia passed away Sunday afternoon at her residence.  She was a daughter of the late Charlie William and Annie Bell Bynum Tapp; was born in Teloga Community, Summerville, Georgia on November 21, 1931.  Mrs. Wester was a member of North Summerville Baptist Church.  She was preceded in death by husband, the late James Carnul Wester, a sister, the late Betty Tapp Slayton, and brothers, the late Horace Tapp, Charles Tapp, and Johnny Tapp, great grandson, the late Cobe Jordan Williams.

            Surviving are daughters, JoAnn (Buster) Hughes of Crossville, Al. and Dorothy (Daryl) Isham of Chattanooga, TN.; sons, Terry (Barbara) Wester of Crossville, AL., Danny (Donna) Wester of LaFayette, and Tim (Tina) Wester of Summerville; grandchildren, Jennifer Williams, Tyler Hughes, Derek Isham, Missy Burks, Matthew Wester, Terry Wester, Dustin Wester, Daniel Wester, Samantha Wester, and J. T. Wester; great grandchildren, Dillon & Mallory Isham, Alex & Luke Burks, Jonah and Jay Williams, Caleb, Trinity, Mia, and Caden Wester, Alden Wester, Will Wester, T. and Dixie Wester; special recognition to a special neighbor, friend, and one She called her sister, Hattie Dentman.

            Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 7th, at 12:00 noon (GA. time) from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. Sanford Deberry and Rev. Mickey Skates officiating, interment in Painter Liberty Baptist Cemetery, Crossville, Alabama.  Active Pallbearers will be Tyler Hughes, Derek Isham, Terry W. Wester, Matthew Wester, J. T. Wester, and Jimmy Tapp.  The Family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 until 8 P.M. at the Funeral Home.

Mrs. Evelyn Ledbetter Hughes

MRS. EVELYN LEDBETTER HUGHES, age 94, of Summerville, Georgia passed away Saturday, August 3, 2019, at Oakview Health and Rehabilitation Center.  Mrs. Hughes, was born December 12, 1924 in Harlan, Kentucky.  She was a daughter of the late James David Ledbetter and Myrtle Rose Ledbetter.  Mrs. Hughes was a member of New Antioch Baptist Church; in addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Clifford Roland Hughes, Sr., brothers, Everett, Gene, and Joe Ledbetter, and sisters, Nora Davis and Ethel Pledger.

            Surviving are, daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Donald Blackwell of Summerville; sons and daughters-in-law, Clifford R., Jr. and Lynda Hughes of Villa Rica, James and Gail Hughes, Tommy and Nancy Hughes, and Freddie and Darlene Hughes all of Summerville; grandchildren, Steve Hughes, Rodney Blackwell, John Blackwell, Jason Hughes, Stacie Hughes Green, Russ Blackwell, Kristie Hughes Booker, Ty Hughes, Molly Hughes Crowe, BJ Hughes, Chad Hughes, Chase Hughes, and Hayley Hughes Tanner; Great grandchildren, Nieces, and Nephews.  Thanks to all the caretakers over the past years, while She was at home, and G Hall while she was a Oakview Health and Rehabilitation.  The help and love for our mother, during this time of confusion in her mind from Alzheimers, is greatly appreciated.

            Graveside service will be held Tuesday, August 6th, at 3:30 P.M. in Greenhills Memory Garden with Rev. Harold Helton officiating. Active Pallbearers will be Grandsons; Honorary Pallbearers will be Granddaughters.  The Family will receive friends Tuesday, from 2:00 P.M. until the funeral hour at the Funeral Home.  Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be sent to:  First Step Freedom Ministries, attn.: Russ and Misty Blackwell, P.O.
