MOSELEY


MR. DANNIE F. MOSELEY, age 92, of Highway #114, Summerville, Georgia, passed away Thursday, August 23, 2018, in a Rome hospital.  He was born in Cherokee County, Alabama on October 8, 1925, a son of the late Fred and Treva Mae Mitchell Moseley.  The oldest member of Berryton Baptist Church, where he has served as Sunday School Superintendent, Church Treasurer, and Deacon; he loved and cherished each member.  A Veteran of the U.S. Army serving in WW II and was awarded the Purple Heart.   He enjoyed telling family and friends of his experiences and journeys overseas; always having the desire for the next generation to understand the importance of fighting for your country and what you believe in.  He retired from 26 years service at Bigelow-Sanford. He was a loving Paw Paw, enjoying time with grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Preceded in death by Parents, sister, Rachel Moseley, niece, Katherine McArthur, sister-in-law, Hazel Moseley, son-in-law, Larue Mitchell, and brothers-in-law, Rance VanPelt and Hershel Myrick.

            Surviving are His loving wife of 70 years, Charlotte Moseley; daughters & sons-in-law, Joan & Dennis Ivey and Jan & Josh Bryan; brothers sisters-in-law, Aaron Hugh “A-hugh” Moseley, Freddie “Fred” & Joyce Moseley; sisters, Imogene VanPelt and Dorothy ”Dot” Myrick; grandchildren, Wendy & Dee Price, Adam & Jessie Ivey, Hope & Harrison Couch, and Heather & Austin Hatcher; great grandchildren, Haley, Savannah, & William Price, Landon, Easton, & Cullen Ivey; special Nieces and Nephews.

            Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 25th, at 2:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev.’s Mickey Skates, Malcolm Harris, and Robert Brown officiating, interment in Lyerly Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers Dee Price, Harrison Couch, Austin Hatcher, Chris Moseley, Ricky VanPelt, and Andy McArthur; Honorary Pallbearers, Members of Berryton Baptist Church, Billie Skates, Gordon Lee & Judy Boyd, Howard & Helen Odom, Malcolm & Ann Harris, Wayne McArthur, Robert Brown, Frank & Mary Crane, Terry Henderson, Greg (Cookie) & Gail Cook, Ronnie Boyd, and Mike Odom.  Visitation, Saturday from 12:00 noon until 2:00 P.M.  The Family suggests contributions to the Lyerly Cemetery Fund, c/o Lyerly First Baptist Church.

Mr. Elton Glenn Wright

MR. ELTON GLENN WRIGHT, age 92, of Blowing Springs Road, Menlo, Georgia, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, August 21, 2018. Mr. Wright was born on July 14, 1926 to the late Tiny (Glenn) and Ruby Fondren Wright.  He was a World War ll Veteran, serving in Germany, Korea, and Italy.  He was a certified electrician who retired from Harriet and Henderson Mills as Superintendent of Electrical Maintenance.  A longtime cattle farmer in the Chelsea community, He was also a member of the Masons.  Mr. Wright was a member of Chelsea Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Ann Willingham Wright and sisters, Gwendolyn and Marie Wright.

            Mr. Wright is survived by his daughter & son-in-law, Wanda and Bub Cooper; grandchildren, Leigh Ann Cooper Kay and husband Tim Kay, Matt Cooper and wife Stephanie Cooper; great grandson, Luke Cooper and great granddaughter Lo Cooper; sister, Evelyn White; brothers, Billy Wright, Fondren Wright, and Ralph and Donna Wright as well as many Nieces and Nephews.

            Graveside and interment service will be held Friday, August 24th  in the Alpine Cemetery with Rev. Billy Wright and Rev. Ralph Wright officiating with Military Honors by American Legion Shanklin-Attaway Post #5, Honor Guard.  Pallbearers will be Matt Cooper, Tim Kay, Jeremy Ash, Jason Wright, Malcolm Wright, Tony Wright, and Mike Wright; Honorary Pallbearers Luke and Lo Cooper.  Visitation will be Friday from 11 AM until 1 PM at the Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to American Legion Shanklin-Attaway Post #5, Honor Guard, #5 Shorter Avenue, Rome, Georgia-30175.

Mr. John Rufus Hamby-Tidmore, Sr.

MR. JOHN RUFUS HAMBY-TIDMORE, Sr., age 76, of Austell, Georgia, passed away Thursday, August 16, 2018, in an Austell hospital.  Born in Turtletown, Tennessee on December 7, 1941, He was a son of the late Ernest Golden Tidmore and Hattie Humphrey Forshee Tidmore Hamby.  Mr. Tidmore was self employed in construction industry.  He was preceded in death by a sister, the late Gladys Roan.

            Surviving are His wife, Kathryn Ann Sadler Tidmore; daughters, Sheryl Huerta, Jean Lytle, and Essie Hope Henry; son, John Rufus Tidmore, Jr.; brother, Sammy Hamby; fourteen Grandchildren, four Great Grandchildren, several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

            Funeral service was held Sunday, August 19th, at 2:00 P.M. from Graveside in Dogwood Memorial Gardens, with Mr. Glen Thacker and Family members speaking.  Active Pallbearers Shawn Rains, Seth Barker, Christopher Rains, Charles Rains, Ronnie Smith, and Stephen Hamby.

CALHOUN

MRS. MARTHA GREEN CALHOUN, age 79, of Green Road, Summerville, Georgia passed away Friday evening, August 10, 2018, at her residence.  A native Chattooga Countian, She was born to the late Gordon Duncan and Ellen Lucille Worsham Green on March 26, 1939.  Mrs. Calhoun was a member of New Hope South Baptist Church and a retired school teacher from the Chattooga County School system.

            Surviving are Her husband, Dave Calhoun; daughters, Kerry Calhoun Martinez and Christie Calhoun McCarley; brother, Alan Green; several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

            Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 15th, at 11:00 A.M. from the New Hope South Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Albercrombie officiating, interment in the New Hope South Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers, Terry Hancock, Tony White, Chuck Petitt, Fred Hardin, John Green, and Michael Green; Honorary Pallbearer Marc Green.  The Family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 P.M. at the Funeral Home.
