Mr. James T. (Tommy) Holt, Jr.

MR. JAMES T. (TOMMY) HOLT, JR., age 86, of Jenkins Gap Road, Summerville, Georgia passed away Wednesday afternoon, May 30, 2018, in a Rome hospital.  A native of Chattooga County, Georgia, He was born to the late James T. Holt, Sr. and Della Mae Allen Holt on August 1, 1931.   Mr. Holt was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church, a Veteran of the U. S. Army serving in Korea, was a Farmer, and was retired from the Inspecting department of Bigelow-Sanford.

            Surviving are His wife, Frances Maxey Holt; daughters, Regina Anderson, Teresa Pierce, and Kay Swanson; son, David Holt; sisters, Shirley Maxey and Bobbie Jones; brother, Vernon Holt; grandchildren, Joi Beth Swanson, Dusty Swanson, Ross Anderson, Payton Anderson, Kailin Womack, Elijah Holt, and Nicholas Holt; great grandchildren, Briley Womack and Luke Womack; several Nieces and Nephews.

            Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 2nd, at 11:00 A.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Bryant and Pastor David Holt officiating, interment in Bethel Presbyterian Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers David Swanson, Dusty Swanson, Danny Pierce, Elijah Holt, Ross Anderson, and Payton Anderson.  The Family will receive friends Saturday from 10 A.M. until 11 A.M. at the Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers the Family suggest contributions to the Bethel Presbyterian Cemetery Fund.

Mr. Charles L. Padgett

MR. CHARLES L. PADGETT, age 76, of Martin Street, Summerville, Georgia passed away Saturday night, May 26, 2018, in a Rome hospital.  A native of Chattooga County, Georgia, He was born on August 2, 1941 to the late Robert M. and Lena Cochran Padgett.  Mr. Padgett was owner/operator of Charles’ Auto Parts and retired from the City of Lyerly.  He was preceded in death by his wife, the late Kathryn Ophelia Priest Padgett on May 11, 2017, a sister, the late Elizabeth Taylor, and brothers, the late Mashburn Padgett and Andy Padgett.

            Surviving are daughters and son-in-law, Mary Padgett and Kathy & Darryl Baker all of Summerville; sisters, Shirley Bishop and Barbara Davis of Summerville; brothers, J. T. Padgett and Frank Padgett of Summerville and Gene Padgett of Alabama; several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

            Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 30th, at 3:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. John Mann officiating, interment in Summerville Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers Ken Padgett, Sammy Padgett, George Padgett, David Padgett, Chris Davis, and Larry Bishop.  The Family will receive friends Wednesday from 1 until the hour of service at the Funeral Home.

Mrs. Norma J. Nix Tressler

MRS. NORMA J. NIX TRESSLER, age 79, of Orchard Road, Summerville, Georgia passed away Thursday evening, May 17, 2018, a her residence following an  illness.  Born in Alpharetta, Georgia on September 17, 1938, to the late Arthur Clarence and Thela Cook Nix.  Mrs. Tressler was a homemaker and was preceded in death by her husband, the late Gerald Joseph Trerssler and daughter, the late Lisa Renee’ Stanley.

            Surviving are son & daughter-in-law, Joseph L. & Melissa Tressler, Leesburg, Al.; sister, Pat Nix, Summerville; grandchildren, Mariah Tressler, Tyler Carder, Matthew Carder, and Cailey Tressler; great grandchildren, Azlynn, Asher, and Wyatt; Nieces , Nephews, and Cousins also survive.

            The Family will receive friends at Earle Rainwater Funeral Home Saturday at 7 P.M.

Jaielynne Smith

JAIELYNNE SMITH, age 56, of Summerville, Georgia passed away Wednesday afternoon, May 16, 2018, in a Rome hospital.  A native of Monmoth, Illinois, She was born December 18, 1961 to the late Earl Faye and Shiela Westerman Smith.  She was Christian by Faith, and was retired Maintenance Director for Georgia Department of Transportation.

            Surviving are life partner, Rebbeca Overstreet; daughter & son-in-law, Andrea and Jeremy Croft; son & daughter-in-law, Michael and Tiffany Overstreet; brother, Brian Smith; grandchildren, Hayden Overstreet, Patrick Croft, and Harlee Croft.

            The Family will receive friends Saturday, May 19th, from 4 until 6 P.M. at the Funeral Home.

Mrs. Bonnie May Davenport

MRS. BONNIE MAY DAVENPORT, age 68, of Orchard Hill Road, Summerville, Georgia passed away Saturday evening, May 12, 2018, at her residence, following a sudden attack.  A native of Dyersburg, Tennessee, She was born to the late Otis and Burnice Lee Turner on January 23, 1950, and was a Homemaker.

            Surviving are husband, Larry C. Davenport; daughter, Angelia D. Pearson; son, Michael C. Davenport; brother, Bobby Turner; grandchildren, Cassie Davenport, Jocelyn Conaway, Brandon Davenport, and Nicholas Pearson; Nieces and Nephews.

            A Private service was held Monday, May 14, 2018.
