Mr. Ronald Michael (Ronnie) Roan

MR. RONALD MICHAEL (RONNIE) ROAN, age 66, of James Street-Summerville, Georgia passed away Monday, June 27, 2016, afternoon in a Rome hospital.  He was born in Arab, Alabama on February 3, 1950, a son o the late Grady and Helen Margaret Kilgore Roan.

            Surviving are wife, Gladys Hamby Roan; children, Hattie Mae Evans, Leon & Sandy White, Billy Frank & Elizabeth Willingham, Shawn Douglas Rains, and Michael Leon & Shannon White; grandchildren, Timothy Evans, Daisy White, Todd White, Shane Evans, Anthony Hamby, Shay White, Tommy Hamby, Austin White, Stephanie Hamby, and Steven Hamby; great grandchildren, Kielee Owens, Lane Evans, Julie Eskew, Destiny Evans, & Catherine McFarland; sisters & brothers, Donnie Ray & Tammy Roan, Zandel & Judy Roan, Geneve Edwards, Carolyn & Tony Prater, Louise & Roger Jenkins, Loyle & Ruthie Roan, Dolye & Gail Roan, Alton Roan, Eddie Lee Roan, and Era Mae McGraw; several Nieces & Nehpews.

            Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 30th, at 10:00 A.M. from the First Born Church of God with Rev. Bobby Brown and Rev. Kenny Ash officiating, interment in Summerville Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers Shawn Rains, Michael White, Austin White, Steven Hamby, Anthony Hamby, and Shane Evans; Honorary Pallbearers Josh Bates, Jimmy Murdock, Pete Huggins, Dillon Murdock, Johnny Craig.  Mr. Roan will be in state at his residence, #306 James Street, Summerville, Georgia, Tuesday afternoon until the hour of service Thursday.

Mrs. Bettye Earle Lee Busbin

MRS. BETTYE EARLE LEE BUSBIN, 87, of Summerville, Georgia went to be with Jesus Christ, previously departed family and friends Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at Alive Hospice, Nashville, Tennessee.  Mrs. Busbin was born January 12, 1929, the daughter of the late Henry Benjamin Lee & Flora E Nelson Lee.  She and her late husband, James Walter “Buddy” Busbin, were self employed, operating James W. Busbin Contractors, Inc. for 40 years.  She was a member of the Church of Christ.  Mrs. Busbin enjoyed a long and blessed life and passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her children.

            Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Bettye Lee  and Jeffery Finley, Brentwood, TN., Melody Grace and Jimmie Hampton, Nashville, TN., Susan Earle Busbin Hirsch, Marietta; son and daughter-in-law James Walter “Buz” and Elizabeth Pax Busbin, Summerville; grandchildren, David Hirsch, Alison Hirsch, Emily Hirsch, James “Trey” Busbin, III, Olivia Pax Busbin, and Caleb Lee Hampton; foster son, Kenneth Rapier Busbin.

            Funeral services are being held at Earle Rainwater Funeral Home Chapel, with Minister Roger Jones officiating, at 3:00 P.M., Sunday, June 26, 2016; interment in Summerville Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers, Auby Longley, Clifford Higgins, Jacob Anglin, Jeffery Finley, Jimmie Hampton, and Tommy Busbin.  Honorary Pallbearers former colleagues and employees of James W. Busbin Contractors, Inc. and members of the Churches of Christ in Chattooga County.  Visitation will be Saturday from 6 until 8 P.M. at the Funeral Home.

Mrs. Connie Jewell Brown

MRS. CONNIE JEWELL BROWN, age 96, of Cloudland, Georgia, passed away Monday, June 20, 2016), morning in the local nursing home.  A native of Chattooga County, Georgia, She was born on February 14, 1920.  Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, the late Elgin D. Brown on February 22, 1967, daughter, the late Robin Brown, and son-in-law, the late Tom Ochs, five Sisters, and six Brothers also preceded Her.  She was Baptist by Faith, and worked with Menlo School, Mt. Vernon/Riegel, and Best Mfg. Company.

            Surviving are daughter, Anise Ochs of Hawkinsville, Ga.; sons, Dewey (Barbara) Brown, Doyle (Joyce P.) Brown, and Tarzan (Pam) Brown all of Menlo, Tom (Joyce H.) Brown of Gaylesville, Al., and Gary Brown of Ft. Payne, Al.; nine Grandchildren, eleven Great Grandchildren, six Great Great Grandchildren also survive.

            Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 22nd, at 1:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Green officiating, interment in Cloudland Presbyterian Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers, Timothy Brown, Eric Brown, Kerry Ochs, Keith Ochs, Jacob Wahdan, Zack Brown, Greg Thompson, and Omar Wahdan; Honorary Pallbearers, Nurses and Aids of “C” Hall of Oak View Nursing & Rehab Center, Aubrey Galloway, Dan Thompson, and Buck Thompson.  The Family will receive friends Tuesday, from 5 until 8 P.M. at the Funeral Home.

Ms. True Villlor Butler

MS. TRUE VILLOR BUTLER, age 67, of Marvin Street, Summerville, Georgia passed away Sunday, June 19, 2016, at her residence.  A native of Catoosa County, Georgia, She was born to the late Milford Howard and Minnie Raines Butler on March 12, 1949.  Ms. Butler was a member of Harrell Street Church of God and a homemaker.

            Surviving are brothers, Howard Butler, Joe Butler, Delon Butler, and David Butler; half sister, Johnnie Garmony; half brother, Robert Butler; several Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins also survive.

            A Memorial service will be held Thursday, June 23rd, at 2:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home, with Rev. LeBron Long officiating.  The Family will receive friends Thursday from 1 P.M. until the hour of service at the Funeral Home.

Mr. Victor Pettett Jr.

MR. VICTOR PETTETT, JR., age 66, of Trion, Georgia passed away Monday evening in a Chattanooga hospital.  A native Chattooga Countian, He was born July 9, 1949 to the late Victor Marion Pettett, Sr. and the late Mildred Styles Pettett.  Mr. Pettett was a member of Trion First Baptist Church, a U.S. Army Veteran of Viet Nam, and an electrician, member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local #175, and proud Boardmember of River City Corvette Club of Hixson, Tennessee.

            Surviving are His wife, Cindy Pettett; children & spouses, Tory Pettett Wilson & Kim Wilson, Lea & Charlie Crabtree, Wes & April Chisolm, Zack Pettett, Kerianna Pettett; grandchildren, Baily Johnston, Cierra & Tanner Chisolm; sisters & brothers-in-law, Nancy Lively, Kitty & Bruce Davies & Joye & Donnie Peppers; several Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.

            Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 11th, at 10:00 A.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev.
