Beverly Dale (Demedicis) Evans

BEVERLY DALE (DEMEDICIS) EVANS, age 61, of Pinson, Alabama, formerly of Summerville, Georgia left our world for Heaven Sunday morning, July 29, 2018.  Born in Honolulu, HI. on October 16, 1956, moving with Family to Birmingham, Alabama as an infant, where she was educated at Woodlawn High School, Southeastern Bible College, transferring to UNA to major in nursing.  She began her career, of 25 years as a Registered Nurse, at Floyd Medical Center in Rome, also worked with Coosa Valley Home Health, and her final 10 years of nursing at Carraway Hospital in Birmingham.

            Surviving are Her husband of 38 years, Rev. Tim Evans; children, Kristen Hilsher (Steve), Zach Evans (Amy), and Katie Bieber (Drew); grandchildren, Andrew- Hilsher, Avery Hilsher, and Jude Bieber; parents, Tommy and Barbara DeMedicis; bother, Doug DeMedicis (Shelia); sister, Donna Leonard (Bubba); several Nieces and Nephews.

            Her Family will receive friends Tuesday, July 31st, at 4:00 P.M. at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 1591 Gadsden Hwy., Birmingham, AL.  Her memorial service will be Wednesday, August 1st, at 11:00 A.M. from the North Clay Baptist Church, 7476 Clayton Road, Pinson, AL. 35126.  Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, Hwy 11, Trussville, AL.

Mr. John Keith Bohannon

MR. JOHN KEITH BOHANNON, age 51, of Marietta, Georgia formerly of Chattooga County, passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at his residence following a sudden attack.  Born in Daytona Beach, Florida, on March 18, 1967, He was a son of the late Jay Shore and Ellie Fricks Shore who survives.  Mr. Bohannon was a systems analysis for Homebridge Mortgage Company and was an accomplished artist and professional photographer.  He was preceded in death by a nephew the late Jonathan Shore.

            Surviving are mother, Mrs. Ellie Shore; grandmother, Mrs. Louise Stoker; sister, Sarah Shore; brothers, Casey Bohannon and David Bohannon; several Nieces and Nephews.

            Memorial service was held Saturday, July 21st, at 7:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Minister Mark Hogan officiating.  A Memorial service will also be held at a later date in Marietta, Georgia.

YARBROUGH

MR. GORDON WILSON (CHUCK) YARBROUGH, Jr.,  age 62, of Cloudland, Georgia passed away Monday afternoon, July 9, 2018, in a Rome hospital.  A native of Atlanta, Mr. Yarbrough was born May 23, 1956,  to the late Gordon Wilson Yarbrough, Sr. and June Tate Yarbrough who survives.  He was a retired auto mechanic.

            Surviving are His mother, June Tate Yarbrough; several Cousins also survive.

            Funeral service was held Friday, July 13th, at 3:00 P.M. from Graveside in Alpine Cemetery, with Minister Hugh Glaze officiating.  Active Pallbearers Phil Cavin, Paul Cavin, Cole Cavin, Markham Cvin Tate, Charles Toles, Lamar Toles, Stewart Toles, and Sonny Eubanks.

Mrs. Jo Keen Shamblin

MRS. JO KEEN SHAMBLIN, age 86 of Highway #337-Summerville, Georgia, Teloga Community passed away Sunday, July 15, 2018, at Redmond Regional Medical Center.  A lifetime native of Chattooga County, Georgia, Mrs. Shamblin was born May 9, 1932 to the late Elgin E. and Bertie Simmons Keen.  In addition to Her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William R. Shamblin, to whom she was married for 60 years, brother, Elbert Keen and sister, Minnie Allmon.  Mrs. Shamblin was a lifelong member of the Beersheba Presbyterian Church and served on the Teloga Volunteer Fire Department Board and the Macedonia Cemetery Committee.

            Surviving are son and daughter-in-law, William Douglas and Keitha Cash Shamblin, Sr.; grandchildren and spouses, Tonya R. and Kevin Woods and William Douglas and Beverly Shamblin, Jr.; great grandchildren, Brianna Woods Chastain, Billy Woods, Ben Woods, and Mason Shamblin; sisters, Evelyn Willingham, Shelby Ward, and Mary Floyd; brother, David Keen, Sr.; several Nieces and Nephews.

            Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 18th, at 11:00 A.M. from the Beersheba Presbyterian Church with Pastor Jennifer Lee officiating, interment in the Macedonia Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers are Douglas Shamblin, Jr., Kevin Woods,  Billy Woods, Gene Wesson, Tim Wesson, and John Bertrand.  Honorary Pallbearers are Members of the Teloga Volunteer Fire Department, Employees of Amedysis Home Health, and members of the Beersheba Presbyterian Church.  Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers the Family request Memorial contributions be made to the Macedonia Cemetery Fund, #488 East Teloga Road, Summerville, Georgia-30747.

            The Family will be at the home of son, William Douglas Shamblin, Sr., #488 East Teloga Road, Summerville, Georgia.

Mr. Brent D. Scoggins

MR. BRENT D. SCOGGINS, age 44, of Summerville, Georgia passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2018, in a Rome hospital.  Born on November 8, 1973, in Floyd County, Georgia Brent was a son of the late Eula Bell Bennett Scoggins and Donny Scoggins who survives. 

            Surviving are father & step mother, Donny and Carol Scoggins; brother & sister-in-law, Kevin and Sandra Scoggins; nieces and nephews, Brandy & Terry Eller, Logan Eller, Alex Stewart, Jennifer & Nathan Thompson, Addie Thompson, Sara Thompson; aunt, Drucilla Ragland; special friend, Beth Kellett; caregivers, Terri McGraw & Tammy Houser; and special friends at Kaleidoscope.

            Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 14th, at 4:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Bishop and Rev. Sanford Deberry officiating, interment in Summerville Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers Terry Eller, Jr., Alex Stewart, Stacey Whited, Jody Stoner, Tim Scoggins.   The Family will receive friends at Earle Rainwater Funeral Home Friday evening from 6 until 8 P.M.
