Mrs. Dolores Anna Geise Marshall

MRS. DOLORES ANNA GEISE MARSHALL, age 86, of Summerville, Georgia, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2016, at an area nursing home.  Mrs. Marshall was born in Cleveland, Ohio on November 4, 1930, a daughter of the late Emil Carl Geise and Lonie Bohannon Geise.  She was retired from Roper Corporation and a member of Horizon Baptist Fellowship.  Mrs. Marshall was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Marshall and step son, William Vance Marshall.

            Surviving are sisters, Caroline Ellenburg of Summerville and  Frances DeBerry of Rome; several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

            Funeral and interment service will be held Wednesday, November 30th, at 2 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home, with Rev. John Harris officiating, interment in Summerville Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers, Eddy Ellenburg, Matt Ellenburg, Jerry Floyd, Steve McChargue, James Lowery, and Mark Floyd.  The Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Funeral Home.

Mrs. Hazel Ruth Millican

MRS. HAZEL RUTH MILLICAN, age 73, of Menlo, Georgia, passed away Sunday, November 20, 2016, in a Rome hospital.  A native of Chattooga County, Georgia, She was born to the late Charles M. (Prucell) Wesson, Sr. and Jacqueline Kellett Wesson Stephens on November 19, 1943.  Mrs. Millican was a devout Christian, and loved to meet with her Christian friends.  She was retired office manager for Dr. Jeff Appelbaum; was preceded in death by Parents, Her husband, the late Charles Loyd Millican, nephews, the late Shawn Wesson, Robin Meadows, and Randy Meadows, and aunt, the late Chris Dersa.

            Surviving are daughter, Diane Millican (Mike) Woodall; grandchildren, Jamye Dawson, Josh Dawson, and Jason Dawson; Six Great Grandchildren; sisters, Lynda Meadows and Rosemary Johnson; brother, Charles Martin Wesson, Jr.; aunt, Frances Ledford; uncle, Paul Kellett; nieces, Renee Ware, Rhonda Lively, and Kim Kellett; nephews, Coleman Ledford, Davin Meadows, Ricky Johnson, Kyle Wesson, and Landon Wesson; twelve Great Nieces and Great Nephews, and numerous Friends.

            Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 23rd, at 2:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home, with Rev. Billy Wright and Rev. Larry Scoggins officiating, interment in West Hill Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers Tony Smith, Wesley Brown, Jonathan Stout, John Ware, Zach Lively, and Micah Lively; Honorary Pallbearers the Chattooga County Emergency Response Team (CERT), Trion Chapter of Eastern Star, the Ladies Auxiliary of V.F.W. Post #6688, and the Lookout Mountain Beagle Club.  The Family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 P.M. at the Funeral Home.

ELROD

MRS. BETTY HIX ELROD, age 88, passed away Thursday, November 10, 2016, evening in a Rome hospice center.  She was a life long resident of Trion, Georgia being born in the house she had lived her entire life, along with twin brothers who passed away in 1965.  Mrs. Elrod was a daughter of the late William Milton Hix, a former deputy sheriff who was killed in the Trion Mill strike in 1934, and the late Myrtis Chapman Hix.  She was a graduate of Berry Academy and Edmondson College after which was employed at National City Bank in Rome then serving Trion City Schools as secretary & bookkeeper for 38 years and 40 years as an agent for AFLAC Insurance.  Mrs. Elrod was a lifetime member of Trion First Baptist Church and was preceded in death by husband, Jack Elrod and brothers Jess, Gordon, Ben, Milton (Muley), Robert, Billy Hix, and sisters, Helen Neeley, Louse Irvin, and Georgia Wardlaw.

            Surviving are son, Paul Elrod; granddaughters Haley and Hannah; several Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins also survive.

            Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 13th, at 3:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. Casey Bramlett and Mr. David Wardlaw officiating, interment in West Hill Cemetery.  Pallbearers Ross Wardlaw, Jay Wardlaw, Justin Wardlaw, Hank Wardlaw, Andrew Wardlaw, and J. T. Williams.  The Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, Sunday from 2 P.M. til the hour of service.

Mr. Robert L. Love

MR. ROBERT L. LOVE, age 72, of South Cedar Street, Summerville, Georgia passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2016, at his residence, following a sudden attack.  A native of Trion, Georgia He was a son of the late William Bill Love and Avis Lewis Love; and was also preceded by a brother, the late William “Bud” Love and sister, the late Ruth Coker.  Mr. Love was a graduate of Chattooga High School and served in Korea during the Viet Nam era in the U. S. Army.  Robert will be remembered as a loving, devoted husband, Dad, grand daddy, (Pops to his granddaughters and brother).  Anyone needing help, Robert was always first to help.

            Surviving are His loving wife, Margie A. Love; daughter, Carla D. Love of Trion and granddaughters, Ann-Marie Keef and Teresa Denise Keef; brothers, David (Vera) Love, Walter (Nell) Love, Winston Love, and Ben Love; sister, Virginia (W.T.) Tucker; sister-in-law, Margie L. Love; several Nieces and Nephews.

            Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial
Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Pastor Carlos Martines officiating, interment in Greenhills Memory Garden.  Active Pallbearers David Meadows, Phil Meadows, Carlton Love, Steve Love, Mike Love, and R. Mr. Thadys Othell Brown

MR. THADYS OTHELL BROWN, age 86, of Summerville, Georgia, Dry Creek Community, passed away Monday, November 7, 2016, at his residence.  A native of Laurens Co., Georgia, He was born to the late Allison L. and Lonie McGowan Brown on September 12, 1930.  Mr. Brown was retired from Ford Motor Company body department after 40 years of service.  He was Morman by Faith and a Veteran of Korea, serving in the  Army 82nd Air Born, and was preceded in death by his wife the late Dixie Y. Faulkner Brown and a daughter the late Cheryl Brown.

            Surviving are daughters, Chiara Brown of Conyers and Carol Spring of Summerville; grandchildren, Sherika Brown, Chris Brown, Travis Lynn, and Desiree’ Spring; several Great Grandchildren, Nieces, and Nephews.

            Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 12th, at 11:00 A.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. Tony Jackson officiating, interment in Arlington Memorial Park, Sandy Springs.  Visitation will be Friday evening from 6 until 8 P.M. at the Funeral Home.
