Mr. Charles Dustin (Bucky) Wooten

MR. CHARLES DUSTIN (BUCKY) WOOTEN, age 34, of Cloudland, Georgia passed away unexpectedly Sunday, August 27, 2017, at his residence.  He was born in Floyd County, Georgia on June 14, 1983, a son of the late Vikki Lynn Brown Wooten and Joe Charles Wooten who survives.  Mr. Wooten was a over-the-road truck driver.

            Surviving beside His Father are son, Charles Preston Wooten of Cedar Bluff, Alabama; sister, Heather Dawson, and niece, Bluesy Harrell both of Summerville.

            Memorial service will be held Thursday, August 31st, at 6:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Russell officiating.  Visitation will be Thursday from 5 P.M. until the hour of service.

Mrs. Hughbell Hamby Tucker

MRS. HUGHBELL HAMBY TUCKER, age 91, of Chelsea Community, Summerville, Georgia passed away Monday, August 21, 2017, evening in a Rome hospice center.  Mrs. Tucker was born in Chattooga County on November 22, 1925, a daughter of the late Hugh Lee and Margaret Ruth Wofford Hamby.  She was a member of the Menlo United Methodist Church, retired secretary for the Chattooga County Cooperative Extension Service, served multiple positions on the Board of Directors of Camp Hamby, and a member of the Retired Teachers Association.  Mrs. Tucker was preceded in death, in addition to her Parents, husband the late Harmon Eugene “Gene” Tucker, and sisters, the late Margaret Thomas, Peg Hogg, and Nelle Adamson.

            Surviving are daughter, Susan (Mark) Hegwood; granddaughter, Lindsay (Jeremy) DeHart; grandson, Marcus Chase Hegwood; great grandchildren, Jackson and Grayson DeHart; sisters, Jane Stokes and Joyce Hogg; brothers, Hill Hamby and Jerry Hamby; several Nieces and Nephews.

            Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 24th, at 2:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. Jody Brock officiating, interment in Garrett Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers Mark Hogg, Kelly Stokes, Lee Hamby, Darren Mitchell, Al Adamson, and Chase Hegwood.  The Family will receive friends Thursday, at the Funeral Home, from 1 P.M. until the hour of service.  The Family request no flowers, and suggest contributions to Camp Hamby or Garrett Cemetery, c/o Beth Wilson, #4854 Hair Lake Road, Summerville, Georgia, 30747.

Ms. Janice E. Heavin

MS. JANICE E. HEAVIN, age 65, of Allen Street, Summerville, Georgia passed away Friday, August 18, 2017, in a Rome hospital.  Born in Waycross, Georgia on May 28, 1952, She was a daughter of the late Rev. A. B. and Dalton Bowling Carroll.  She was a member of the Church of God, was retired from Riegel Textile Corporation packing department, and was preceded in death bin addition to Parents, brother, Larry Carroll, and nieces and nephew, Bruce Carroll, Bradley Carroll, and Amanda Carroll.

            Surviving are daughter & son-in-law, Summar Heavin & Brian Jones of Ringgold; sister, Della Mae Carroll; brother, James Carroll both of Summerville; grandson, Dracen Heavin-Jones; close friend, Tommy Henderson; several Nieces and Nephews.

            Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 20th, at 2:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Pastor Danny Harkins officiating, interment in Summerville Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers Berry Carroll, Jason Carroll, Chase Carroll, Tommy McRae, Taylor Brock Carroll, and Reuben Brock.  The Family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service at the Funeral Home.

Ella Mae Fairfax Hendrix

Ella Mae Fairfax Hendrix, 92, of Clover, SC passed away Monday, August 14, 2017 at home.
Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August  16th at Summerville City Cemetery, Summerville, GA. A memorial service will be 11:00 am Saturday, August 19th at the First United Methodist Church, Clover, SC.
Ella Mae Hendrix was born October 14, 1924, in Fairbluff, NC, Columbus County, to the late Curtis and Ruth Floyd Fairfax.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Robert Lewis Hendrix, her brother Charles Fairfax, and her sister Ovaline Barberousse.
She graduated from Fairbluff High school, North Carolina.  She met her husband while vacationing with her cousin in Georgia, married, and moved to Chatooga county Georgia and lived there for 50 years until relocating to Clover, South Carolina, in 2007 to be closer to their only daughter and her family.  She was a dedicated homemaker, worked in a variety of positions throughout the years including owning a chicken egg farm with her husband, and was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church.
Ella Mae loved her family and made them her priority.  She loved church, gardening (roses were her favorite!), cooking, and southern gospel singing.  She also had the opportunity to travel across the United States and Europe when visiting Charlotte and Bob at their military base assignments.
Ella Mae is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte H. and Robert Dowd of Clover, South Carolina; two grandchildren: Carin Scott (Ryan) of Cary, NC and Jeff Dowd of Austin, TX; and three great- grandchildren: Jordan, Aidan, and Brenna Scott of Cary, NC; and three nephews and three nieces.
