Mrs. Lucy C. Brown

MRS. LUCY LEE BROWN, age 89, of Sloppy Floyd Lake Road, Summerville, Georgia passed away Thursday, March 23, 2017, afternoon in a Rome hospital.  Mrs. Brown was born in Greenville, South Carolina on January 8, 1928 to the late Robert Ramsey and Fannie Ethel Dyer Craig.  She was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, retired from sewing department of Harding Mfg. Company, and was preceded in death by her husband, the late Olin Brown, Jr., daughter, the late Geraldine Whitlock, siblings, the late Watson Crain, Frances Smith, Louise Howell, Nellie Hilton, Jessie Craig, Dillard Craig, Mozelle Craig, and William Craig.

            Surviving are daughters, Bernice Lee Campbell, Dianne Wooten, Patricia Ann Brown, and Donna Tidmore; son, Gary Wayne Brown; twelve Grandchildren; several Great Grandchildren, Great Great Grandchildren, Nieces, and Nephews also survive.

            Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 26th, at 2:00 P.M. from the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Howell and Rev. Gary Wells officiating, interment in Summerville Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers David Wilson, Casey Brown, Scott Whitlock, Kip Wooten, William Whitlock, and Keith Whitlock.  The Family will receive friends Saturday from 6 until 8 P.M. at the Funeral Home.  At other hours the Family will be at Mrs. Brown’s residence.

Mr. James W. Hunt

MR. JAMES W. HUNT, age 88, of Lyerly Dam Road, Lyerly, Georgia passed away Monday, March 13, 2017, morning at his residence.  He was born in Tishomingo, Miss. on January 18, 1929 to the late Willie Leonard and Mamie Jewell Butler Hunt.   Mr. Hunt was a member of the Lyerly First Baptist Church and for many years operated his own small engine mechanic shop at the residence.

            Surviving are His wife of 67 years, Irene Howard Hunt; children, Winston (Sue) Hunt, Peggy Hunt Anderson, & Danny Hunt; grandchildren, Wesley (Deborah) Hunt, Lisa Hunt, Laurel (Dan) Foust, James (Samantha) Anderson, Eddie Burch, Tony Hunt, Melanie Hunt; great grandchildren, Damien, Vaughn, Avery, Ashlyn, Abbie, Jackson, Dylon, Mason, Canan. Lydia, Preston, Josie, Chloe, Parker, Gage, & Kinsley; sisters, Reba Clark, Joyce Johnson, Judy Klimp, & Paulette (Toby) Worley;  several Nieces & Nephews.  

            Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 15th, at 11:00 A.M. from the Lyerly First Baptist Church with Rev. Barry Peppers, Rev. Ralph Sumner, and Rev. James Baird officiating, interment in Lyerly Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers Tony Hunt, James Anderson, Dan Foust, Wesley Hunt, Bruce Bynum, Eric Reynolds, David Howard, & Lewis Railey; Honorary Pallbearers Eddie Burch Jack Carr, Cecil & June Reynolds, John Hayes, Alice & Tim Railey, Bob Reynolds,  & Barry Wooten.  The Family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 until 8 P.M. at the Funeral Home.

Mrs. Carolyn Prater

MRS. CAROLYN S. PRATER, age 52, of West Washington Street, Summerville, Georgia passed away Saturday, March 4, 2017, evening in a Rome hospital.  She was born in Summerville, Georgia on January 14, 1965 to the late Grady Robert and Helen Margaret Kilgore Roan.  Mrs. Prater was preceded in death by a brother the late Ronnie Roan.

            Surviving are Her husband, Tony Prater; sisters & spouse, Louise & Roger Jenkins, Ft. Payne, Al., Geneva Edwards, and Eva McGraw both of Summerville; brothers & spouses, Donnie & Tammy Roan, Doyle & Gail Roan, Loyle & Ruthie Roan, Zandell & Judy Roan, Alton Roan, and Eddie Lee Roan all of Summerville; several Nieces and Nephews.

            Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 8th, at 1:30 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home, with Rev. Ray Caldwell and Rev. Matthew Evans officiating, interment in Summerville Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers will be Pete Williamson, David Wyrick, Shawn Smith, Eddie Smith, Randal Reynolds, and Mike McGraw.  The Family will receive friends Tuesday, from 6 until 8 P.M., at the Funeral Home.
