MR. HUBERT BUREN HARKINS, age 78, of Summerville, Georgia passed away Sunday, December 4, 2011, in a Rome hospital from injuries received in an automobile accident in Summerville in October of this year. A native of Fairmont, Georgia, He was born to the late Benjamin Hubert and Edna Evelyn Crowe Harkins, on May 8, 1933. He was offset press printer for the Summerville News retired, after 40 plus years and a Veteran of the U. S. Army serving in Korea. Surviving are His wife-Bertha Harkins; daughter-Sheila Christine Harkins; grandson-Wesley Levi Harkins both of Summerville; step daughter-Dona Clark of Rock Spring; step son-Travis Wade of LaFayette; sister-Carol Burnett of Social Circle, Georgia; brother-Larry Harkins. Memorial service will be held Sunday, January 8, 2012, at 1:00 P.M. from the Rock Springs Seventh Day Adventist Church. Earle Rainwater Funeral Home in charge.
