MR. CALVIN McARTHUR, age 77, of Reed Street, Trion, Georgia passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at his residence. Mr. McArthur was born in Berryton, Georgia on September 23, 1935, a son of the late John Henry and Margaret McArthur Rackley. He was retired from the maintenance department of Chattooga Hospital and Oak View Nursing & Rehab. Center, had served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict, and was a member of American Legion Post #129 and V.F.W. Post #6688. Mr. McArthur was preceded in death by his wife, the late Helen Wynell Nix McArthur and brothers-J.L. Rackley and Kenneth Rackley. Surviving are daughters-Melanie (Gary) Woods and Darlene (Bryan) Hunter all of Trion; grandchildren- Jason (Stacie) McArthur, Bryan (Kaytia) McWhorter, Derek (Catherine) Hunter, Haley Woods and Jimbo Woods; Great Grandchildren Olivia and Trevor McArthur, Sydnie Hoglund, Gage and Gunnar McWhorter; Special Friends Herb Skelton, Pete Denson and Mark Winters. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 11th, at 1:00 P. M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Mr. Sam Finster officiating, interment in West Hill Cemetery. Active Pallbearers Chris Watson, Corey Watson, Bryan McWhorter, J. J. Ivey, Chris Davenport and Chris Devier. Honorary Pallbearers American Legion Post #129 and VFW Post #6688.
