MRS. ANN YOUNG, age 91, of Maple Drive,
Summerville, Georgia passed away Friday, September 11, 2015, at her residence. A native of Broometown, Alabama, She was born
to the late John H. and Minnie Pearl Powell Humphrey, on December 14,
1923. Mrs. Young was a member of North
Summerville Baptist Church and was retired from the sewing department of
Montgomery Knitting Mill. She was
preceded in death by her husband, the late James Perry Young on October 21,
1985, a sister, Pearl Humphrey, brothers, Ben Humphrey, Earl Humphrey, Jack Humphrey,
J. D. Humphrey, and H. P. Humphrey, and sons-in-law, the late Grady Bennett and
Donald Green.
Surviving are daughters and
sons-in-law, Jimmie Ann & Ron Nicholson, Peggy Young Green, Pat & Randy
Money, and Donna Whitmire; granddaughter & spouse, Alania & Britt
Carpenter, great granddaughter, Emma Carpenter; special friends, Joyce &
Darrell McKeehan; care givers, Regina Dodd, Peggy Stricklin, Shelia Stowe, and
Life Choice Hospice.
Funeral services will be held
Sunday, September 13th, at 4:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial
Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Russell officiating,
interment in West Hill Cemetery. Active
Pallbearers, Mike Humphrey, Jeff Ward, Mark Bennett, Mike Bennett, Tim Hayes,
and David Evans; Honorary Pallbearers, Jimmy Riley, Johnny Riley, and the
Ladies Sunday School Class #8 of North Summerville Baptist Church. The Family will receive friends Sunday from 2
P.M. until the hour of service at the Funeral Home.
