MR. BILLY B.
SPEER, age 92,
of Farmersville Road, Summerville, Georgia passed away early Sunday morning,
February 17, 2019, in the local nursing
home. A native of Chattooga County, He
was a son of the late Robert Sterling, Sr. and Annie Ruth Williams Speer, and
was born on December 24, 1926. Mr. Speer
was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, a veteran of the U. S. Army,
and retired rural mail carrier for the U. S. Postal Service with forty two
years of service. Beside Parents He was
preceded in death by siblings, Mildred Allen, Martha Hunter, Robert S. Speer, Jr.,
and Joe Speer.
Surviving are brother, Jerry &
Shirley Speer; sister-in-law, Martha Sue Speer; brother-in-law, Jim Hunter;
nephew, Clint & Kristie Hunter.
Funeral services will be held
Monday, February 18th, with Rev. Jimmy Bryant officiating, interment
in Greenhills Memory Garden. Active
Pallbearers, Clint Hunter, John Hunter, David Young, Danny McGraw, Jeff Owings,
Jimmy Barron; Honorary Pallbearers, Leo Lanier, William Mitchell, William
Crouch, Charlie Lowry, Harold Williams, Paul Hosmer, Sam Jones, Johnny Shahan,
Jim Shahan, Martha Cooper, Helen Southerland, Mary Brown, Hoyt Williams, Frank
Ward, and the Adult Sunday School Class of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Visitation will be Monday from 1 until 3 P.M.
at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers
contributions may be made to the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church c/o Pam Hunter,
@204 Congress Street, Summervile, Georgia—30747.
