Mr. James "Jimbo" Slaughter

MR. JAMES BILLY “JIMBO” SLAUGHTER, age 62, of Back Berryton Road, Summerville, Georgia passed away Friday, September 22, 2017, morning at his residence following an illness. He was born in Cartersville, Georgia on October 7, 1954 to the late Thomas William and Vera Leona Light Slaughter.  He was a member of Berryton Bible Mission and a carpenter for W. H. Bass Company.  Mr. Slaughter was preceded in death by a sister the late Jane Slaughter and brother, the late Stanley Gillam.

            Surviving are His wife, Judy Slaughter; daughters, Kayle Warren, and Misty & Dabo Smith; son, David & Tiffany Slaughter; sisters, Teresa Silvers, Sandi & Ken Talley; brothers, Gary & Karen Slaughter and Jerry & Ruthie Gillam; son-in-law, Michael & Katie Warren; 12 Grandchildren, several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

            Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 24th, at 3:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home, with Pastor Jerry Rutledge officiating, interment in Lyerly Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers, Randall Abernathy, Billy Abernathy, James Abernathy, Dustin Ivey, Justin Silvers, and Dewayne Clark; Honorary Pallbearers, Ray Bridges, Tim Abernathy, Don Lumpkin, Rick Lumpkin, Robert Walker, Tony Prater, Kyle Parker, and Ronnie Watson.  The Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home Saturday from 6 until 8 P.M.; at other hours the Family will be at the residence.

            Earle Rainwater Funeral Home in charge of arrangements for Mr. Jimbo Slaughter who passed away Friday.
