Mr. Joe Pless

MR. JOE PLESS, age 79, of Menlo, Georgia, passed away Sunday, January 5, 2014, in a Rome, Georgia hospital. Born in Menlo, Georgia on October 5, 1934, He was a son of the late Earnest Lee and Kate Alexander Pless. Mr. Pless was a member of Cloudland Presbyterian Church, served in the U. S. Marine Corps for ten years, and along with His wife, Sara, originated the Lookout Restaurant in Cloudland, Georgia. Surviving are His wife, Sara Kling Pless; daughter-Julia Pless Houston of Summerville; son-John Pless of Cloudland; grandchildren-Paul Battles, Jessica Green, and Cody Pless; great grandchildren-Taj Battles, Ivan Battles, and Zackery Green; several Nieces and Nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 8th, at 1:00 P.M. from the Cloudland Presbyterian Church with Pastor Todd Threlkeld officiating, eulogy by Mr.- Robert Houston. Active Pallbearers Tommy Gifford, Johnny Etchison, Tom Kling, Cody Pless, Paul Battles, Joseph Green, and Taj Battles. The Family will receive friends Tuesday from 5 until 7 P.M. at the Funeral Home; Mr. Pless will also be in state at the Church from 12 noon until the Funeral hour, Wednesday.
