Mrs. Helen C. Hudson
MRS. HELEN C. HUDSON, age 89, of Rome, Georgia former longtime resident of Summerville, passed away Monday, January 27, 2014, in a Rome health care. She was born on December 16, 1924 to the late William Richard and Rosa Dell Estes Chappelear. Mrs. Hudson was a member and former pianist, for many years, of Summerville First Baptist Church; she was retired from the Georgia Rug Mill and was preceded in death by her husband, the late Wilburn Hudson, sisters, the late Patricia Ann Holliday and Mary Dell Welch, and brother, the late Henry Chappelear.
Surviving are daughter-Cheryl Allen of Rome; sons-Kelly Hudson of Cedar Bluff, AL., and Richard Hudson of California; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 1st, at 11:30 A.M. from the Summerville First Baptist Church with Rev. Doyle Waters officiating, interment in Greenhills Memory Garden. Active Pallbearers will be Family members; Honorary Pallbearers will be Charlie Williams, O.G. Moorehead, Jim Meredith, Harmon Petitt, Billy Petitt, and Jim Parker. The Family will receive friends at the church, Saturday from 10 A.M. until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers, the Family suggest contributions be made to the Summerville First Baptist Church.
