Mr. George Floyd Dawson

MR. GEORGE FLOYD DAWSON, age 80, of Gore-Subligna Road, Summerville, Georgia passed away Friday at his residence. Born in Gore Community on July 4, 1933, was a son of the late Frank Jennings and Frances Elizabeth Floyd Dawson. Mr. Dawson was a well know cattle farmer and logger, a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, and a Veteran of the U.S. Army. Surviving are His wife, Betty Dawson; daughter and spouse, Kay and Lawrence Broome of Summerville; grandson, John (Becky) Broome; granddaughter, Laura (C.J.) Cady; sisters-Frankie (Harold) Gordon of Gore and Jan (Harold) Ragland of Lyerly; Gene Dawson, Joe (Mary Frances) Dawson of Gore; several Nieces and Nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 3rd) at 3:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Bryant officiating, interment in Greenhills Memory Garden, Active Pallbearers-Danny McGraw, Britt Ragland, Shane Ragland, Greg Shaw, Harold Ragland, Rick Hammond, John Broome, C.J. Cody, Mark Gordon, and Ross Lowry; Honorary Pallbearers-William Mitchell, Jeff Cargle, Doyol Momon, Stacey Gray, Jimmy Hix, Andy Allen, and Calen Cooper. Visitation will be Monday from 1 P.M. until the hour of service. Mr. Dawson requested no flowers and suggested contributions be made to Heyman Hospice. Earle Rainwater Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
