MINISTER ROLAND ARTHUR WARREN, age 90, of Montezuma, Georgia passed away Saturday, May 16, 2009, at his daughter’s, Ila King, residence in Summerville. Mr. Warren was born in Blount County, Alabama to the late John Henry and Delia Walker Warren on January 12, 1919. He was an Evangelist with the Church of Christ for more than fifty years and a member of the Oglethorp Church of Christ.

Surviving are His wife, Christine Levie Warren of Montezuma; children-Neal & Myrna Warren, Ila & Wallace King all of Summerville, Kenneth & Candyce Warren of Antioch, CA.; 8 Grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchildren; several Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral services Wednesday, May 20th) at 11:00 A.M. from the Chapel of Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma with Minister Clif Dennis officiating, interment in Bertha Dozier Memorial Park Cemetery-Montezuma. Visitation 6 until 8 P.M. Tuesday, May 19th, @ Watson-Mathews. In lieu of flowers the Family request memorials to Floyd Heyman Hospice Care, 800 Broad Street-Rome, Georgia-30161, www.floyd.org. MRS. BETTY FAYES CASH McGINNIS, age 82, of Covington, Georgia formerly of Chattooga County, Georgia passed away Saturday (May 16, 2009) in Covington. She was born in Berryton, Georgia on July 18, 1926 a daughter of the late Alfred “Shorty” Cash and Arrie Lee Dendy Cash. A member of Honey Creek Baptist Church in Conyers, Georgia, Mrs. McGinnis was a secretary for many years for a property management company, and a proud member of the “Red Hat Society”. She was preceded in death by husband the late Charles Howard McGinnis, daughters the late Susan Slayton and Rhonda Walker, and a brother the late Jack Cash.

Surviving are son & spouse-Jake & Ann McGinnis of Covington; sister-Harriett Carroll and brother Sewell Cash both of Summerville; 12 Grandchildren, 22 Great Grandchildren, several Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday (May 19th) at 11:00 A.M. from the Chapel of Wheeler Funeral Home in Covington with Rev. Vestor Maughon officiating; graveside service will be Tuesday at 4:00 P.M. in Summerville Cemetery. Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to Honey Creek Baptist Church in Conyers, Georgia.

MR. ROBERT LeROY “RUSTY” BRIDGES, of Summerville, Georgia Subligna Community was called up on May 17, 2009 to play drums for God’s Praise and Worship team. Rusty was a former resident of Ooltewah, Tennessee and was retired from the Hamilton County County Highway Department. He was a longtime drummer for several bands in this area, a member of Ooltewah Lodge #741, and was preceded in death by parents the late Robert and Yvonne Russbridge Bridges.

Rusty leaves to cherish his memories, wife-Karen Jennings Bridges; children-Robert “Rusty Bridges, Quinn Lewis, Tony & Kelli Bridges of Chattanooga, Haley & Daniel Sells of Ooltewah, Cassidy Bridges, Jeffrey Franklin, & Keith Sells of Chattanooga, and Jason Russell of Gadsden, Al.; grandchildren-Mary Quinn Bridges of Chattanooga & Anna Sells of Ooltewah; brothers-Dusty (Diane) Bridges & Van (Jane) Bridges all of Ringgold; mother of His children Anna Bridges of Chattanooga.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

MRS. HAZEL ELIZABETH BYARS VAUGHN, age 91, of Ridgewood Circle-Summerville, Georgia passed away Wednesday (May 13, 2009) in a Rome hospital. A native of Cherokee County, Alabama She was born to the late Paul F. and Sibyl Preskitt Byars on November 25, 1917. She was a member of South Summerville Baptist Church, retired Justice of the Peace for Chattooga County, and was preceded in death by Her husband the late Henry Clarence Vaughn, Sr.; son, Henry Clarence Vaughn, Jr.; grandson, Scott Vaughn; great great grandson, Jordon Vaughn; sister, Haney Byars; brother, Robert L. Byars.

Surviving are daughters and husbands, Annette & Darrell Skinner, Sr. of Summerville, Sandra & Glen Weathington of Monroe, GA., Marsha & David Pritchett of Summerville; son and wife, William P. and Cindi Vaughn of Summerville; sister, Ophelia Hall of Tampa, FL.; brother, John David Byars of Warner Robins; thirteen Grandchildren, twenty one Great Grandchildren, 1 Great Great Granddaughter; Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday (May 16th) at 2:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. Mickey Skates officiating, interment in Greenhills Memory Gardens. Active Pallbearers Doug Williams, Darrell Skinner, Jr., Steve Skinner, Stacy Vaughn, Stephen Watson, Gil Fowler, Jason Vaughn, and Robert Henry. MR. EWART WILSON, Sr., age 88, of Summerville, Georgia passed away Tuesday (May 12, 2009) in the local nursing home. A native of Randolph County, Alabama He was born to the late James Aubry Wilson, Sr. and Lena Ada Eva Gibson Wilson on May 4, 1921. Mr. Wilson moved to Chattooga County at a early age, was educated in the Chattooga County schools, and along with His wife, the late Virginia Newsome Wilson, owned and operated Wilson Motor Company, the former Chrysler/Dodge dealership in Summerville for many years. He was a member of Northside Church of Christ and was preceded in death by His Wife; Parents; a daughter the late Brenda Wilson; siblings-the late Waylon Wilson, the late Juanita Wilson, and the late James Aubry Wilson, Jr.

Surviving are daughter & son-in-law, Becky & Gary Duke; son & daughter-in-law, Quinton Wilson, Jr. & Susan Wilson all of Summerville; 4 sisters-Claudine Fowler of Hernando, FL., Maughee Evans of Trion, Montez Gladney and Joan Renslow both of Summerville; brothers-Charles B. Wilson and Lorenzo Wilson both of Summerville; grandchildren-Wendi Harkins, Shelley Wilson, Kyle Duke, Erin Shireman, Jeremiah Wilson; great grandchildren-Alex Wilson, Chandler Mitchell, Katherine Duke, Addyson Shireman, Adrianna Shireman, and Nicholas Duke; special cousin-Mike Dillard; several Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins also survive.

MR. REGINALD RICHARD (REG) BOYLES, age 77, of Garden Lakes Blvd.-Rome, Georgia passed away Friday (May 8, 2009) in a Rome hospital. A native of Trion, Georgia He was born to the late Homer Lonnie and Jessie Williams Boyles on March 8, 1932. Mr. Boyles was a Veteran of Korea serving in the U.S. Air Force, was a retired accountant for General Electric, and a member of Horse Leg Creek Golf Club. He was preceded in death by sister-Katie Boyles Ashe and nephew-Richard Watson.

Surviving are wife-Marie Smith Boyles; sister-Ruth McKenzie of Trion; nieces and nephews-Susan Ashe Burch, McDonough; Pat Evans, Summerville; Mike Ashe, Newnan; Janice Marucci, Jonesboro; Nancy, Jeff, Brian, & Elaine Ashe, Forest Park; Richard Ashe, Locus Grove, GA., Brad Watson, Lake Weiss, AL., and Pam Watson Miller of Cornelia, GA.
