Mrs. Jessie Colbert Pendland

MRS. JESSIE COLBERT PENDLAND, age 93, of Thomas Road, Trion, Georgia passed away Saturday, August 29, 2015, at her residence.  A native of Chattooga County, She was born to the late John Henry and Alloie Jo Robinson Dooley.  Mrs. Pendland attended the Trion Church of God, and was retired from the former Bed & Bath Shop.  She was preceded in death by former husbands, the late J. D. Colbert and the late William (Hank) Pendland; son, the late Jimmy Colbert; sisters, the late Lucille Dixon, Lottie Bishop, and Sybil Mershon; and brothers, the late Ollie Dooley, Wilburn Dooley, and J. H. Dooley.

            Surviving are daughters and spouse, Peggy Colbert Campbell and Paulette Colbert Owens and Melvin Owens; son & spouse, Doug and Carolyn Colbert; daughter-in-law, Janet Colbert; 10 Grandchildren, 29 Great Grandchildren, and 5 Great Great Grandchildren; several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

            Funeral services will be held Monday, August 31st, at 3:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home, with Pastor Tommy Pledger and Pastor Jimmy Chastain officiating, interment in Summerville Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers Derek Colbert, Bryan Colbert, Matt Owens, Philip Campbell, Todd Campbell, and Zach Willingham; Honorary Pallbearers, Johnnie Robinson, Owen Phillips, Tristan Stenton, Dakota Ceresoli.  The Family will receive friends Monday from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service at the Funeral Home.

Mrs. Nellie B. Davenport

MRS. NELLIE B. DAVENPORT, age 89, of Yarbrough Road, Summerville, Georgia, passed away Saturday, August 29, 2015, at her residence.  A native Chattooga Countian, She was born to the late Roy Clinton and Hattie Lemuel Veatch Allmon, on July 6, 1926.  Mrs. Davenport was retired from the sewing department of the former Best Mfg. Company of Menlo, Georgia and a member of Chelsea Baptist Church.  She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Garner Earl Davenport on July 12, 2007; daughter, the late Robin Davenport; sisters, the late Sarah Evans, Margaret Knight, Zenter McHaffey, and Fannie Mae Hunter and brothers, the late Rube Allmon, Cecil Allmon, and Deforest Allmon.  Nelliw B. loved herf Savior, Jesus Christ and was devoted to read the Bible.  She loved her neighbors the Kerce, Yarbrough, and Joyner families, and her Church family.  She enjoyed teasing and making people smile.  “Her children arise up, and call her blessed”, Proverbs 31:28.

Surviving are two daughters & spouses, Jeanette and Bill Shelby and Shirley and Albert Smith, Jr.; son & spouse, Benny and Karen Davenport; seven Grandchildren, twelve Great Grandchildren; several Nieces and Nephews; sisters-in-law Effie Hayes and Edith Stanley; brother-in-law, Vernon Hayes, and best friend, Mozelle Willingham, also survive.

Funeral services Tuesday, September 1st, at 2:00 P.M., EDT, from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Spears and Rev. Larry Scoggins officiating, interment in West Hill Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers, Daniel Smith, Corey Smith, Mark Davenport, Michael Smith, David Jackson, Jody Smith.  The Family will receive friends Monday from 6 until 8, EDT, at the Funeral Home.

Mr. Robert E. (Spooky) Dawson

MR. ROBERT E. (SPOOKY) DAWSON, age 62, of Gore-Subligna Road, Summerville, Georgia passed away Monday afternoon in a Rome hospital.  He was born in Summerville, Georgia on October 31, 1952 to the late Lester M. and June Self Dawson.  Mr. Dawson was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and an avid cattle farmer.

            Surviving are his wife, Vickie Jo Dawson; daughter & spouse, Allison & Matt Eubanks of Summerville; grandchildren, Dawson Eubanks and Griffin Eubanks.

            Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 26th, at 1:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home, with Rev. Jimmy Wilborn, Rev. Jimmy Bryant, and Dr. Charles Bishop officiating, interment in Greenhills Memory Garden.  Pallbearers will be Ken Lanier, Jessie Miller, Ricky Brown, Ray Casey, Keith Whitlock, Eric Scoggins, Josh Tudor, and Robert Moore.  The Family will receive friends Wednesday from 11 A.M. until the hour of service at the Funeral Home.
