Mrs. Sharon Diane Bridges

MRS. SHARON DIANE BRIDGES, age 72, of Allen Street, Summerville, Georgia passed away Sunday, June 18, 2017, at her residence.  Born in Trion, Georgia on March 1, 1945, was a daughter of the late William (Bill) and Mildred League Croft.  She was a homemaker and member of the Gospel Light Christian Fellowship Church.

            Surviving are daughter, Angela Dodd; sons, Stephen Dodd, Bryant Dodd, Paul Dodd, Kelly Dodd, and Danny Dodd; several Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren; life long friends Judy Noles and Glenda Mitchel also survive.

            Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 21st, at 2:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Spears officiating, interment in Oak Hill Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers David Padgett, Scott Millican, Sammy Davis, Terry White, Logan Dodd, and Preston Dodd.  The Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home Wednesday from noon until the hour of service.

Mrs. Vera Mae Bice

MRS. VERA MAE BICE, age 89, of Hinton Street, Summerville, Georgia passed away Friday, June 16, 2017, morning in the local nursing home.   She was born in Chattooga County on June 20, 1927 to the late Jim and Dolery Prince Bundrum.  Mrs. Bice was Church of God by Faith, a Homemaker, and was preceded in death by her husband, the late Frank Bice.

            Survivors include daughter, Cindy Reece; sons, Danny Bice, Roland Bice, Richard Bice, Terry Bice, and Billy Bice; Nineteen Grandchildren, several Great Grand Childred and Great Great Grandchildren also survive.

            Funeral services will be held Monday, June 19th, at 1:30 P.M. from the J. D., Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Rutledge and Pastor Larry Reynolds officiating, interment in Summerville Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers Johnny Reece, Jason Reece, Justin Reece, Jason Bice, Paul Bice, and Stevie Bice.  The Family will receive friends Sunday from 6 until 8 P.M. at the Funeral Home.

Mr. Walter George Spraggins

MR. WALTER GEORGE SPRAGGINS, age 67, of Marvin Street, Summerville, Georgia passed away Monday, June 12, 2017, at his residence following an illness.  A native Chattoogaian, He was born to the late Ernest and Clara Geneva Rosson Spraggins on December 4, 1949.  Mr. Spraggins was retired pulpwood truck driver and Christian by Faith.

            Surviving are daughters, Ann Blackmon of Trion and Darlene Carter of North Carolina; sons, Glenn Spraggins and Ernest Spraggins of Summerville; sisters, Vicki Stephens of Calhoun and Faye Caldwell of Kingston;  former wife, Doris Spraggins; special friend, Becky Patterson; several Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Nieces, and Nephews also survive.

            Memorial service will be held Friday, June16th, at 1:00 P.M. in Summerville Cemetery.

Mrs. Barbara G. Hanson

MRS. BARBARA G. HANSON, age 81, of Goodwin Drive, Summerville, Georgia, passed away Thursday, June 1, 2017, in a Rome hospital.  A native of California, She was born on June 8, 1935.  Mrs. Hanson was a member of the Summerville First Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, the late Wayne Louis Hanson on July 15, 2015.

            Surviving are daughter & son-in-law, Christi and Tommy Cox; son & daughter-in-law, Ricky and Donna Hanson; several Grandchildren also survive.

            Memorial service will be held Monday, June 5th, at 7:00 P.M. from the Summerville First Baptist Church with Dr. Paul Mason officiating, interment in Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, Georgia.  The Family will receive friends Monday, at the Church, from 6;00 P.M. until the hour of service.
