Mr. William E. "Bill" Hasty

MR. WILLIAM E. “BILL” HASTY, age 91, of Rome, Georgia formerly of Menlo, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2015) morning in a Rome health care.  Mr. Hasty was born in Atlanta, Georgia on February 18, 1924 to the late William Marcus and Faith Crane Hasty.  Mr. Hasty was a member of the Pennville First Baptist Church, a Veteran of WW II serving in the U. S. Army, was retired dock supervisor for Overnight Transport, and was preceded in death by his wife, the late Bettie Wade Hasty in 2002.

            Surviving are daughter, Marsha Watters of Rome; son, Mark Hasty of Bowden; grandchildren, Billy Hayes, Danielle Luipersbeck, Amy Butler, Cody Hasty, Audrey Giles, and Adam Hasty; several Great Grandchildren also survive.

            Funeral services will be held Friday, May 1st, at 2:00 P.M. from Graveside in Greenhills Memory Garden, with Rev. James White and Mr. Kenneth White officiating.

Mrs. Majorie Kellett Peace

MRS. MAJORIE (JO) KELLETT PEACE, age 93, of Fayetteville, Georgia, formerly of Trion, passed away Thursday, April 16, 2015, in Fayetteville.  Native to Chattooga County, Georgia, She was born to the late Deed J. and Lucy Estelle Jay Kellett on April 11, 1922.  Mrs. Peace was a member of West Summerville Baptist Church, was retired from the weave room of Riegel Textile Corporation, and preceded in death by her husband, the late Fred William Peace.

            Surviving are niece and spouse, Patricia Kellett Cooper and Donnie Cooper of Peachtree City; nephew and spouse, Zane Kellett and Debbie Cooper of Peachtree City; great nephew, Coleman Cooper; several Cousins also survive.

            Funeral services will be held Monday, April 20th, at 2:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Seay officiating, interment in the family lot of Summerville Cemetery. 

            The Family will receive friends Monday, from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service at the Funeral Home.

Kimberly Dawn Blackmon

KIMBERLY DAWN BLACKMON, age 49, of Trion, Georgia passed away Tuesday evening, April 14, 2015, at her residence.  Ms. Blackmon was born February 9, 1966, to the late Houston Foy and Bessie Carolyn Stansell Palmer. She was a member of New Hope North Baptist Church. In addition to parents She was preceded in death by siblings: Jimmie Ruth Sweat, Marilyn Jean Palmer and Bobby Palmer.

Survivors include her son, Justin Blackmon of Trion, husband Paul Kennett of Trion; sisters: Phyllis Padgett of Rossville, Kathy Brown of Trion, Becky Schilling, Linda Orr and Martha Reynolds all of Summerville, Marsha Upton and Pat Elsberry both of Lyerly; brothers: Michael Palmer of Summerville and La Don Palmer of Dalton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 17, 2015, at 1:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Michael Redwine and Freddie Bell officiating, interment in Summerville Cemetery; active pallbearers Austin Kennett, Joshua Key, J.R. Kennett, Stacey Reynolds, Chris Key, and Rob Johnson.  Visitation will be at the Funeral Home Thursday evening from 6:00 till 8:00 P.M.

Mr. Raymond W. Cooper

MR. RAYMOND W. COOPER, age 89, of Jenkins Gap Road, Summerville, Georgia passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2015, in a LaFayette Health Care.  Native to Jackson County, Alabama, He was born to the late George A. and Ethel Goff Cooper on December 21, 1925.  Mr. Cooper was a retired farmer and logger, and a member of the Silver Hill Baptist Church.  He was preceded in death by his wife the late Gladys Louise Crabtree Cooper, a son, the late Jerry Cooper, and a granddaughter, the late Mary Burrage.

            Surviving are daughters and son-in-law, Faye Cooper and Shirley and Michael Herring; sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Essie Cooper, William Cooper, Clayton Cooper, Sherman and Barbara Cooper; bother-James Reece Cooper; seven Grandchildren, twelve Great Grandchildren, three Great Great Grandchildren, also with several Nieces and Nephews.

            Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 11th, at 11:00 A.M. from the J.D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Wayne Cooper officiating, interment in Silver Hill Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Grandchildren.  The Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home Friday evening from 6 until 8 P.M.
