Rev. Paul L. Edgeworth

Rev. PAUL L. EDGEWORTH, age 75, of Susie Lane Summerville, Georgia, passed away Friday, June 28, 2019, at his residence.  Born in Trion, Georgia on July 23, 1943, He was a son of the late J. C. and Madlane Ledford Edgeworth.   Rev. Edgeworth pastored the Community Holiness Church in Summerville and was owner/operator of Paul’s Repair.  Beside His Parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, the late J. T. Edgeworth and sons-in law, the late Charles Edward “Eddie” Marmet and Wayne Edward Brady.

  Surviving are His wife of 57 years, Susie Mae Craig Edgeworth; daughters and spouses, Janice & Tim McGill, Patricia & Bryon Corey, Debbie & Paul Nance; grandchildren, John Marmet, Jennifer Marmet,  Nicole Corey, & Joie Nance, Michael & Rashell Marmet, Dakota Lively, Jessie Savory, & Kourtney Marmet; great grandchildren, Jaycea Marmet Edgeworth, Memphis Marmet, Caleb “Boo” Bentley, Ryan Marmet, William Marmet, and Brody Marmet; brothers and sisters, Norman Edgeworth, Johnny “Jr.” Edgeworth, Alvin Edgeworth, Tony Edgeworth, Betty Faye Siffles, Lois Reed, JoAnn Blackmon; several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

  Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 3rd, at 1:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. John Mann and Rev. Charles Bennett officiating, interment in Chapel Hill Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers John Marmet, Dakota Lively, Michael Blackmon, Kenny Edgeworth, Chris Secrest, Ryan Marmet; Honorary Pallbearers, Ben Weeks, Vincent Hix, Alvin Edgeworth, Michael Marmet, Brad Edgeworth, and David Thomas.  The Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home Tuesday, July 2nd, from 6 until 8 P.M.

Ms. Bonnie Grace Stoker

MS. BONNIE GRACE STOKER, age 84, of Ash Street, Summerville, Georgia, Berryton Community, passed away Monday morning at Her residence.  A Chattooga County native, She was born to the late Henry and Mamie Moses Stoker on September 14, 1934.  She was her Family’s Care Giver.  In addition to her Parents Ms. Stoker was preceded in death by sisters, Susie Leaphart and Margaret Broce, and brothers, Herbert Stoker and Amos Stoker.

            Surviving are sister and brother-in law, Shirley and Robert Whitworth; brother, Jim Stoker; nieces and nephews, Robin Busby, Kathy Ratledge, Tammy Norton, Vickie Davis, Jayson Whitworth, Lee Stoker, Larry Stoker, Mark Stoker, and Greg Stoker.

            Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 26th, at 1:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. Jessie Bankston officiating, interment in Summerville Cemetery. Pallbearers Robert Whitworth, Jayson Whitworth, Kenny Holt, Josh McGuire. The Family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 P.M. at the Funeral Home.

Mr. Steven E. Gilreath

MR. STEVEN E. GILREATH, age 79, of Harrisburg Road, Summerville, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2019.  Mr. Gilreath was born February 27, 1940 in Summerville, Georgia, a son of the late Coy T. Gilreath and Mae Gilreath Vance.  Prior to His retirement, he served four years in the U. S. Army in military police.  Mr. Gilreath also proudly served as deputy sheriff in Chattooga County under the command of former Sheriff Gary McConnell for 10 years.  He retired from the state of Georgia where he worked in maintenance at Hayes State Prison for 12 years.  In addition to His parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the late Nancy P. Gilreath and a daughter Tammie Gilreath.

            Mr. Gilreath is survived by two daughters, Shanna Gilreath Dodd and Tonia Rounsaville, wife of the late Stanley Rounsaville; step daughter, Kathy McGuire; grandchildren, Jordan and Jason Warren, 2ns Lt. Steven Derek Dodd, serving in the Georgia Army National Guard, and wife Shalyn, Olivia Stancil; step grandson, Mica McGuire; great grandchildren Kendall Warren and Eisley Warren.

            The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 26th, at Earle Rainwater Funeral Home from 6 until 8 P.M.  A private, Family Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

Mr. Dan Smith

MR. DAN SMITH, age 87, of James Street, Summerville, Georgia passed away Tuesday morning, June 18, 2019, at his residence.  A native Chattooga Countian, He was born to the late Jesse and Lucille Smith on June 6, 1932.  Mr. Smith was a contractor for 45 years, a member of New Faith Tabernacle, and was preceded in death by his wife, the late Mary Ruth Bing Smith on February 21, 2014; He was also preceded in death by sons-Ronnie Smith, Sr., Larry Smith, Sr., and siblings-Frances Maton, Charles Wayne, Arnold Smith; granddaughter-Joanie Mae Hathcock, and great grandchildren, Chloe Hearlson, Alisha Rolison, and Ritchie Humphreys, Jr.

            Surviving are daughters, Nelda Lindsey, Denise Ramey, Tina Hearlson, Kay Bates, Joan Hathcock, Mary Kirby; sons, Danny Colbert, Kenneth Colbert, and Michael Colbert; sisters, Charlotte Wallace and Jessie Willingham; brother, Frank Reed; 30 Grandchildren, 62 Great Grandchildren, 19 Great Great Grandchildren; several Nieces, Nephews, special nephews Steven and Anthony Hamby, and special friends, Mark and Lisa Fiolich also survive.

            Funeral services will be held Friday, June 21st, at 1:30 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home, with Rev. Bobby Brown and Rev. R. D. Craig officiating, interment in Dogwood Memorial Gardens; visitation will be Thursday from 6 until 8 P.M.at the Funeral Home.  Pallbearers Joshua Bates, Zachery Bates, Sr., Anthony Hamby, Steven Hamby, Timothy Holtzen, and Eddie Smith.

Mr. Richard L. Bice

MR. RICHARD L. BICE, age 62, of Old River Road, Summerville, Georgia passed away Sunday morning, June 16, 2019, in a Rome hospital.  He was born in Chattooga County, Georgia on November 26, 1956 to the late Frank and Vera Bundrum Bice; he was a logger by occupation.  In addition to His Parents, Mr. Bice was preceded in death by two bothers the late Leonard Bice and Frank Bice, Jr.

            Surviving are sons, Stevie Bice, Paul Bice, and Aaron Bice; sister, Cindy Williams; brothers, Roland Bice, Danny Bice, Terry Bice, Billy Bice; and also special friend Bonnie Woodfin.  Seven Grandchildren, several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

            Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 19th, at 12:00 noon, from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Wright officiating, interment in West Hill Cemetery.  The Family will receive friends Wednesday at the Funeral Home from 10:00 A.M. until noon.
