Mrs. Gladys L. Roan

MRS. GLADYS L. ROAN, age 70, of James Street, Summerville, Georgia passed away Saturday, March 24, 2018, in a Rome hospital.  A native of Summerville, Georgia, She was born to the late Causby Frank and Hattie Forshee Hamby on August 1, 1947.  She was a member of the First Born Church of God and a Homemaker.  Mrs. Roan was preceded in death by her husband, the late Ronald Michael (Ronnie) Roan on June 27, 2016, a sister, the late Martha Jean White, and brothers, the late Eugene Hamby and Junior Hamby.

            Surviving are children, Hattie Mae Evans, Leon & Sandy White, Billy Frank & Elizabeth Willingham, Shawn Douglas Rains, Michael Leon & Shannon White; grandchildren, Timothy Evans, Shane Evans, Shay White, Austin White, Daisy White, Anthony Hamby, Tammy Hamby, Stephanie Hamby, Steven Hamby, Emily Willingham, & Olivia Willingham; great grandchildren, Kielee Owens, Julie Eskew, Destiny Evans, Catherine McFarland, Lane Evans, DePharrah Smith; brothers, Sammy Hamby and John Tidmore; several Nieces and Nephews.

            Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 29th, at 1:00 P.M. from the First Born Church of God with Rev. Ray Caldwell, Rev. Bobby Brown, and Rev, Kenny Ash officiating, interment in Summerville Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers Michael White, Austin White, Shawn Rains, Anthony Hamby, Steven Hamby, & Blake Green; Honorary Pallbearers, Timothy Evans, Shane Evans, Leon White, Sammy Hamby, Jr., Pete Huggins, Josh Bates, Levi Fowler, and the Three Circles Foundation.  Mrs. Roan will be in state at her residence #306 James Street, Summerville, Georgia after 1:00 P.M. Wednesday.

Ms. Rosemary Wesson Johnson

MS. ROSEMARY WESSON JOHNSON, age 72, of Lyerly Street, Summerville, Georgia passed away Monday, March 19, 2018, morning in a Rome hospital.  A native of Chattooga County, Georgia, She was born to the late Charles and Jacqueline (Stephens) Wesson on October 17, 1945.  She was a member of West Summervile Baptist Church, was retied from inspection department of Salem Mills, and was preceded in death by sister, the late Hazel Millican and step father, the late Bud Stephens.

            Surviving are daughter, Rhonda Lively; sons, Ricky & Laura Johnson and Robert & Suzanne Compton; grandsons Micah Lively and Zachary & Lauren Lively; great grandchildren, Halle Lively, Dana Lee Lively, Bristol Kate Lively, Deacon Cade Lively; sister, Linda Meadows; brother, Marty Wesson; aunt & nephew, Frances Ledford and Coleman Ledford; several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

            Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, March 24th, at 5:00 P.M. from the Redemption Worship Center, #174 West 1st Street, Summerville, Georgia.  Contributions made be made to the Restoration House, P.O. Box 445, Summerville, Georgia or perennial spring flowers.

Mr. Jimmy Lee Marbutt

MR. JIMMY LEE MARBUTT, age 33, of Back Berryton Road, Summerville, Georgia passed away Monday, March 12, 2018, at his residence.  Born in Rome, Georgia on April 23, 1984; He worked for J. Barr Tractor in fabrication.  He was preceded in death by grandparents, Karl Marbutt, Edward Lee Wade, and Katherine Johnson.

            Surviving are mother & step father, Diane Smith and Buddy Shadrick; father, James Marbutt;  grandmother, Jackie Marbutt; sisters & spouses, Kasey Brown and Jack Thomason, Katelyn & Tyler Lee Price; brothers, Levi Brown, Dakota Smith, Trace Shadrick.

            A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Elizabeth J. Langston

MRS. ELIZABETH J. LANGSTON, age 82, of Cloudland Drive, Cloudland, Georgia passed away Tuesday evening, March 13, 2018, in the local nursing home. Mrs. Langston was born July 28, 1935 in Dekalb County, Alabama, a daughter of the late Louis Aubrey and Gladys Key Cash. She was preceded in death by her husband the late Harold “Chub” Langston, parents and a sister Lois Lyday.

            Surviving are: Daughters, Rita Galloway of Mentone, Al and Kathy Langston of Cloudland, GA; Sons, Aubrey Galloway of Mentone, and Todd Cash of Palm Springs, CA.; Grandchildren, Jacob Buffington, Brandon Galloway, Mollie Mathis, Daniel Hunter, and Butch Clark; sisters, Clara Bozeman, Martha Hulgan; several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

            Funeral services will be held Friday, March 16th, at 5:00 P.M.  from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home, with Rev. Jack Green and Rev. David Thompson officiating, interment in Ami Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers Derek Buffington, Phil Green, Brandon Galloway, Daniel Hunter, Graeson Hunter, Landon Williams; Honorary Pallbearers Staff of Oak View Nursing & Reheb. Center,  Jacob Buffington, and Butch Clark.  Family will receive friends Friday from 3 until 5 P.M. at the Funeral Home.

Mrs. Nona L. Holbrooks

MRS. NONA L. HOLBROOKS, age 96, of Kelly Street, Summerville, Georgia passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at her residence.  Born July 29, 1921, in Cherokee County, Alabama, she was a daughter of the late Ed and Flossie Hawthorne Ray.  Mrs. Holbrooks was a member of North Summerville Baptist Church and retired from the meat market of the former Hurley’s Food Center in Summerville. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Barry McGraw.

            Surviving are Daughter, Pat and Ralph Grede; Son, Larry and Glenda Holbrooks; Grandchildren, Greg McGraw, Kerry McGraw, Tracy Hawkins, Amy Morrison, David Holbrooks, and Matt Holbrooks; Great Grandchildren, Mackenzie Morrison, Jaden Morrison, and Jackson Morrison, Matthew McGraw, Shelly McGraw, Erica McGraw, Monica McGraw Coile, Joseph McGraw, Molly McGraw; Sister, Thelma Casey; several Nieces and Nephews also surive.

            Graveside service was held Friday, March 9th, at 2:00 P.M. from Summerville Cemetery, with Rev. Tom Russell officiating. Active Pallbearers David Holbrooks, Matt Holbrooks, Mike Hawkins, Mike Morrison, Mackenzie Morrison, and Jackson Morrison.
