Mrs. Naomi Davison

MRS. JOYCE NAOMI DAVISON, age 83, of Gray Street, Trion, Georgia passed away Saturday morning, December 29, 2018, at her residence, after a long battle with Alzheimers.  She was born in Berryton, Georgia on October 15, 1935, a daughter of James Ranson and Mae Dell Osborne Tedder.  She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, the late Grant Davison; they worked side by side many years in service to the Lord, as Preacher and Preacher’s Wife.  The last congregation they were blessed to attend was Lookout Hall Church of Christ.  She was a very special Mother and Nana, loved by many.

            Survivors include daughters, Becky Hoglund and Gartrelle Davison; son, Richard Grant Davison, II; grandchildren, Stefan Hoglund and Wendy Patrick, and Heather Breese; great grandchildren, Cody and Amber Keen, Carly Keen, and Sydnie Hoglund; great great grandchildren, Sophia Grace Keen and Harrison Ray White; sister, Pat Stanley; several special Nieces and Nephews, many special friends including Chris and Lily Keen, Jared Wigley, Tanner White, and Angel Meadows.

            Funeral service will be held Monday, December 31st, at 2:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Josh Daniel and Chris Woods officiating.  The Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home Monday from 12:00 noon until 2:00 P.M.  The Family request no flowers and suggest contributions to the Gospel Broadcasting Network, 8900 Germantown Road, Olive Branch, Miss.-38654 or the Alzheimers Association.

Mr. James (Grump) Scruggs

MR. JAMES (GRUMP) SCRUGGS, age 84, of Mahan Road, Summerville, Georgia , passed away Sunday morning, December 23, 2018, in a Rome hospital.  A native of Berryton, Georgia, He was born to the late William Thomas and Birdie Octavie Cox Scruggs on August 22, 1934.  Mr. Scruggs was Baptist by Faith, a retired Millrite, Veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the U. S. Army, member of the V. F. W. and American Legion, a member of Chattooga Lodge #704 F & AM, and a member of Yaarab Shrine Temple.

            Surviving are His wife, Effie Scruggs; daughter and spouse, Peggy and John Busby; son and spouse, James Neal, Jr. and Arliss Jo Scruggs; grandchildren, Danny and Shelley Scruggs and Julia Scruggs; great grandchildren, Taylor Scruggs and Naomi Scruggs.

            Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 27th, at 2:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Russ Blackwell and Pastor Malcolm Harris officiating, interment in Lyerly Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers Rusty Dooley, Marc Hogg, Michael Morris, Tim Wilson, Russ Blackwell, and Britt Evans; Honorary Pallbearers Pete Denson Jerry Hamby, Donnie Hall, and Truck Town Employees.  The Family will receive friends Thursday from 12:00 noon until 2:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home.

Mrs. Joyce Ann Williams

MRS. JOYCE ANN WILLIAMS, age 76, of Filter Plant Road, Summerville, Georgia passed away Saturday, December 22, 2018, in a Rome, Georgia hospital.  A native of Chattooga County, She was born to the late Harbin Monroe and Ethel Lee Green Stephens on March 13, 1942.  Mrs. Williams was a member of the Lyerly First Baptist Church; was an accountant, having worked with several local business’, Bryant & Sons Lumber Company, H & R Block, and Bankson Oil & Tire.  She was preceded in death by her Parents, husband, the late Nedwin Ray (Ned) Williams, and son , the late Nedwin Zane Williams.

            Surviving are grandson and daughter-in-law, Ethan Williams and Linda Williams; brothers and spouses, Doug and Mary Stephens, Ronnie and Sherry Stephens, and James Bennett, Sr.; nephews, Warren Douglas Stephens, Jason Stephens, Chris Stephens, and James "Tudor" Bennett; special friends, Betty Joyce Rackley, Gwen Bentley, and Glenda Hamilton.

            Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 26th, at 3:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Gwen Bentley giving eulogy and James  Bennett, Sr. officiating, interment in Lyerly Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers Kyle Kellett, Robbie White, Jason Stephens, Warren Douglas Stephens, Chris Stephens, and Tony White.  The Family will receive friends Wednesday from 1 until 3 P.M. at the Funeral Home.

Mrs. Imogene White

MRS. IMOGENE WHITE, age 80, of White Oak Road, Summerville, Georgia passed away Monday, December 10, 2018) at her residence.  She was born in Trion, Georgia on May 25, 1938 to the late Clyde and Lillian Elrod Cochran.  Mrs. White was a member of the Church of God, was retired from the card room of Riegel Textile Corporation.   She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Orville Robert “Doc” White on May 24, 2011, a sister the late Maxine Fletcher, and grandsons, the late Aaron Dooley.

            Surviving are daughters, Robbie Baker Dooley and Becky White Humphrey; son Orville Robert White, Jr.; six Grandchildren, twenty two Great Grandchildren and Great Great Grandchildren.

            Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 13th, at 1:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Keylon and Pastor Danny Harkins officiating, interment in Summerville Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers Nicholus Dooley, Jason Baker, Trey Foster, Jamie Mitchell, Shannon Hallard, and Harold Hughes.  The Family will receive friends Wednesday, from 6 until 8 P.M. at the Funeral Home.
