Mrs. Lucinda Tribble Chamblee

MRS. LUCINDA TRIBBLE CHAMBLEE, age 85, of Raines Circle, Summerville, Georgia passed away Friday, May 31, 2019, in the local nursing home.   She was born in Gadsden, Alabama, on November 18, 1933, was native of Fort Payne, Alabama, and was daughter of the late Allen and Louise Campbell Tribble.  Mrs. Chamblee was a member of the Summerville First United Methodist Church and a school teacher for 41 years, retiring in 1994.

            Surviving are husband, Richard (Dickie) Chamblee; several Cousins also survive.

            Private funeral graveside service will be held Monday, June 3rd, in Fort Payne, Alabama.  There will be no visitation.  The Family request no flowers and suggest contributions to the Animal Advocates of Chattooga County, P.O. Box 220, Summerville, Georgia.

Mr. Arnold Bruce Steward

MR. ARNOLD BRUCE STEWARD, age 78, of Mountain View Road, Trion, Georgia passed away Wednesday evening, May 29, 2019, at a Rome hospital.  Born in Valley Head, Alabama on March 3, 1941, He was a son of Charles Wesley and Ethel Vashti Lyons Steward.  He was a member of the East Trion Church of God and was Georgia State Trooper with 27 ½ years of service.

            Surviving are his wife, Barbara Jean Steward, Daughters, Kelly Karen Steward & Charles Larry Burrage, Jr., Rebecca Jean Steward James, a son, Randy Bruce & Bonnie Kendrick Steward, and Grandsons Colten Alexander Burrage and Grayson Noah James. Mr. Steward was preceded in death by Evelyn Spence, Charles Glen Steward, Chester Edward Steward, and Hubert Richard Steward.

            Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 1st, 2019, at 1:00 P.M. from the Graveside at West Hill Cemetery in Trion with Pastors Sean Wegner and Douglas Lee officiating, interment in West Hill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 11AM until 12:30PM Saturday at Earle Rainwater Funeral Home in Summerville, Georgia.

Mr. Russell Lee Brown

MR. RUSSELL LEE BROWN, age 62, of Griffin Road, Cartersville, Georgia passed away Wednesday evening, May 29, 2019, at a Cartersville hospital.  Born in Marietta, Georgia on April 27, 1957, He was a son of Houston and Maxine Hillhouse Brown.  He was Church of Christ by faith and was self-employed as a plumber.

            Surviving are his wife Rita Brown, sons, David Lee (Jordon) Brown and Ashton Phoenix Brown, daughters, April Brown and Gracie Brown, sisters, Sherrill Gravely, Wanda Lanning and grandchildren Kamden Jordan, Noah Jordon and Jona Jordon.

            Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 2nd, 2019, at 2:00 P.M. from the J.D. Hill Memorial Chapel of the Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Minister Robbie Eversole officiating, interment in the West Hill Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers David L. Jordan, Terry (Lee) Johnson, Jr., Jacob Hammitt, John Todd, Lanzs Johnson, Bo Jones, and Britt Todd; Honorary Pallbearers Terry Johnson, Sr., Tony Ray Johnson, and Wayne Cain The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6PM until 8PM at the Funeral Home.

Mr. Thomas L. Black

MR. THOMAS L. BLACK, age 62, of C Street, Summerville, Georgia passed away Thursday morning, May 30, 2019, at a Rome hospital.  Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on December 6, 1956, He was a son of the late William (Bill) and Gladys Foster Black.  He was Church of Christ by faith and worked in the Maintenance Department at Mt. Vernon Mills.

            Surviving are his wife Polly Black, a sister Celestine Joner, a brother John Black, a daughter Monike Butler, six stepchildren, four grandchildren and five step great grandchildren.

            Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 1st, 2019, at 3:00 P.M. from the J.D. Hill Memorial Chapel of the Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Apostle Dr. Jennifer M. London officiating, interment in the Summerville Cemetery.  Pallbearers are Renderal Adams, Kenneth Adams, Johnny Adams, Kaine Darden, Jonas Darden, and Quintell Price.

Mr. Jackie Matney

MR. JACKIE MATNEY, age 61, of James Street, Summerville, Georgia passed away Wednesday evening, May 15, 2019, in a Rome hospital following an extended illness.  A native of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, He born to the late James H. and Ethel Murdock Matney on August 28, 1957.  He was retired from Mount Vernon Mills, were he was a hyster driver; and was preceded in death by siblings the late Ruthie Hamby, Benny Matney, and James Matney.

            Surviving are His companion, JoAnn Edwards; siblings, Rachel Ashworth, Ray Cundiff, Kay Hamby, Jeannie Robertson, and Wayne Matney.

            Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 18th, at 2:00 P.M. from the J. D. Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. Ralph Sumner and Rev. Kevin Norton officiating, interment in Chapel Hill Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers James Abernathy, Curtis Cochran, Anthony Hamby, Dewey Padgett, Daniel Laney, and Preston Allmon.  The family will receive friends Friday from 6 until 8 P.M. at the Funeral Home.
