Mr. Bennie Ray Hix, Jr.

MR. BENNIE RAY HIX, JR., age 48, of Martin Street, Summerville, Georgia passed away Saturday afternoon, October 27, 2018, at his residence following an extended illness.  A native of Floyd County, He was born on November 14, 1969, to the late Bennie Ray Hix, Sr. and Betty Blackmon Hix Stansell.  Mr. Hix attended the Berryton Bible Misson and was formerly employed by B & T Tree Service.

            Surviving are daughter, Angeline Hix of LaFayette; son, Vincent Ray (Emily) Hix of Summerville; grandmother, Inez Blackmon of Summerville; brothers, Jason Hix and Russell Branch both of Summerville; was like a father to Cheyenne Smith, Whitney Moose, and Hali Roberson; uncle, Jackie Blackmon; grandchildren, Carson Holder Adams and Braiden Holder Adams; niece, Chelsey Branch; nephew, Dylan Branch.

            Memorial service will be held Wednesday, October 31st, at 1:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Rutledge officiating.

Mr. Arthur Raymond Clapper

MR. ARTHUR RAYMOND CLAPPER, age 80, of Rome, Georgia passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at his residence.  A native of Harpersfield, New York, He was born to the late Reubin B. and Lena Ovitt Clapper, on June 24, 1938; he was preceded in death by his wife, the late Anna Sue Drummond Clapper.

            Surviving are sister-in-law, Katherine Bethune; nieces, Pam Naughton, Cheri Jett, Michelle Bicknell; nephew, Mark Bethune.

            Memorial service will be held Friday, November, 2, 2018, at 2:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Mr. Josh Baker and Dr. Matthew Campbell officiating, inurnment in Greenhills Memory Garden.

Mr. William David Gerard McManamy

MR. WILLIAM DAVID GERARD MCMANAMY, age 71, of Glenn Drive, Summerville, Georgia passed away Thursday, October 18, 2018, in a Rome hospital.  A native of Cherbek, Canada, He was born to the late Gerard Daniel McManamy and Maxine Landry.   He was a Chief and a Veteran of the U. S, Navy.

            Surviving are daughter, Kelley Dani McManamy; son, William David Gerard McManamy, II; grandchildren, Jazzmine Dezirea McManamy, Richard Woodfin, Jess McManamy, Seven McManamy; sister, Derri McManamy; brother, Daniel McManamy; Three Great Grandchildren; several Nieces and Nephews.

            The Family will receive friends Sunday, October 28th, from 1:00 until 2:30 P.M. at Earle Rainwater Funeral Home.

Mr. Robert Darrell Watwood

MR. ROBERT DARRELL WATWOOD, age 70, of Red Oak Road, Summerville, Georgia passed away Thursday evening, October 12, 2018, at his residence following an illness.  Born in Arab, Alabama to the late Dovard and Elizabeth Nicholson Watwood on November 3, 1948, He was a member of Pentecostal Worship Center and was retired from Georgia Rug Mill dye department.  Mr. Watwood was preceded in death by a half-brother the late Miles Bates, a sister, Betty Watwood, and nephews, Dennis, Douglas and John Watwood, and Dewayne Bates.  He was an avid fisherman and was a strong fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide Football team. 

            Surviving are His wife, of 48 years, Marlene Bowling Watwood; brother, W. E. (Jean) Watwood of Gaylesville, Al.; sister, Patricia (R.L.) Steele of Cedarbluff, AL.; special niece, Denise Floyd; sisters-in-law, Shirley (Odis) Grogan, Brenda Martineau, Rebecca (Steve) Dyer, Dorothy (Andy) Hutchins; brother-in-law, Dwight (Wanda) Bowling; several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

            Funeral services were held Sunday, October 14th, at 3:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Pastor Andy Hutchins and Pastor Charles Izell officiating, interment in Summerville Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers Odis Grogan, John Watwood, Jeff Holcombe, Tim Abernathy, Dwight Bowling, Bryn Hutchins, Ty Hutchins, and Tommy McRae; Honorary Pallbearers Nurses and CAN’s of Tapestry Hospice who cared for Robert.
