Mrs. Shirley Lenderman

MRS. SHIRLEY LENDERMAN, age 91, of LaFayette, Georgia formerly of Chattooga County, Georgia passed away Monday evening, June 25, 2018, in the local nursing home.  A native of Chattooga County, She was born to the late John Meredith and Bonnie Stephenson Ellenburg on December 7, 1926.  Mrs. Lenderman was a member of Pennville Church of Christ, retired from Mount Vernon weave room, and was preceded in death by her husband, the late James Edwin Lenderman and son-in-law Barry Gilreath.

            Surviving are daughters and spouses, Kathy and David Daniel, Jan and Chris Ledbetter, and Judy Gilreath; son and spouse, Jimmy and Bobbie Ann Lenderman;  eight Grandchildren, fifteen Great Grandchildren, several Great Great Grandchildren, Nieces, and Nephew.

            Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 28th, at 11:00 A.M., from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Ministers Barry Gilreath, Tyler Gilreath, and Barry Gilreath, III officiating, interment in Summerville Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers Scott Daniel, Brent Smith, Chris Ledbetter, Casey Smith, Wayne Weaver, and Mike Frost; Honorary Pallbearers the Staff of Oakview Nursing and Rehab Center.  The Family will receive friends Thursday from 10 until 11 A.M. at the Funeral Home.

Shelli Payne Jones

In joyous remembrance of Shelli Payne Jones who died peacefully at her home, Turkeyhollow, on June 22, 2018. Shelli was born on July 8th, 1950 to Richard and Marjorie Payne of Montgomery, Alabama. While studying at Jacksonville State University, she met David Jones. They married and eventually settled in David’s hometown of Summerville, Georgia. Shelli was a lifelong educator who specialized in art and science. She taught at Pennville and North Summerville Elementary schools. She was committed to a life in God’s service and pursued hands on ministry as a volunteer at the Community Resource Center of Chattooga County. Shelli is survived by Karolyn Payne Elliott, Richard and Teresa Payne, Sam Jones, Sandy Whittington, her Godchildren— Britton, Christiaan, Taylor, Sam, Josh, Slater, Loretta, Loren, Martin, Lee, Katy, Destin, Hannah, and Desiree — and her pets— Tinker, Valentino, Ember and Satchmo Jones. Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on June 29th, 2018 at Bethel Church with Rev. Melvin Moseley officiating.

Mr. Carlie Edward "Eddie" Burch, III

Mr. Carlie Edward “Eddie” Burch, III, of Summerville, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2018 in a Rome, Georgia Hospital.  Born in Greenville, Tennessee on May 3, 1975, He was a son of Carlie Edward Burch, Jr. and Deborah K. Densmore who survive.

            Surviving beside the Parents are, Stepfather, Danny Hunt; Brothers, Anthony “Tony” Lucas Hunt, David Anderson, Jason Burch, Jeremy Burch, and Jerome Burch; Sister, Melanie Ann Marie Hunt; Grandmothers, Barbara Cook and Irene Hunt; Several Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.

            Memorial service will be held Saturday, June 16th, at 1:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Minister Hugh Glaze officiating.  The Family will receive friends Saturday from 12:00 noon until 1:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers the Family suggest contributions to the Kidney Foundation.

Ms. Tara Dawn Adams

MS TARA DAWN ADAMS, age 42, of Woodland Avenue, Summerville, Georgia passed away June 6, 2018, at her residence.  A native of Chattooga County, She was a daughter of the late Beverly Galloway Chisolm and Ricky Adams, who survives.

            Surviving are daughter, Jada Hennon; father, Ricky Adams; brother, Korel Adams; and half brother, Logan Adams; Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.

            A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Debbie Colbert


Mrs. Debbie Colbert, 52 of Summerville, passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2018, in a Rome hospital.  A native of Chattooga County, She was born on February 5, 1966, a daughter of Roland Bice, Sr. and Delana Sue Caldwell Bice.  Mrs. Colbert was a Home Maker and attended Son Rise Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by a grandson Arlin Humphrey

            Surviving are Husband, Michael Colbert; Parents, Roland Sr. and Sue Bice Daughters, Amy Pursley and Candee Colbert both of Summerville; Brothers, Ronald Bice of Gaylesville Alabama and Roland Bice, Jr. of Summerville; Sisters, Mary Ann York and Janie Youngblood both of Summerville; Granddaughters, Shana Pursley, Emilee Colbert, and Dalanna England; Grandson, Rillan Humphrey; God son, William Wester.  Several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

            Funeral services will be held Friday, June 8th, at 2:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with, Tracy Espy officiating and interment in the Tea Rose Memorial Garden.  The family will receive friends from 12 until 2 p.m., Friday June 8th at the Funeral Home.
