MR. BILLY JOE CROY, SR., age 74, of Espy Street-Summerville, Georgia passed away Saturday, May 26, 2012, afternoon following an extended illness. A native of Trion, Georgia, He was born to the late Allen Lester and Mary Frances Bailey Croy on June 12, 1937. Mr. Croy was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church , a Veteran of the U. S. Army serving in Korean Conflict, and was a retired truck driver. He was preceded in death by a son the late Billy Joe Croy, Jr. Surviving are His wife, Betty Jo Croy; sons & daughters-in-law, Randy & Wanda Croy of Trion and James & Lucy Croy of Calhoun; sister-Maggie Fox of Trion; brother-Earl Croy of Summerville; grandchildren-Joseph Croy, Kevin Croy, and Amanda & Justin Brown; great granddaughter-Ella Brown. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 29th, at 2:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. Ralph Sumner and Rev. Jessie Bankson officiating, interment in West Hill Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be the following grandsons and Nephews, Joseph Croy, Kevin Zach Croy, Justin Brown, Randy Croy, Ronnie Croy, and Joey Jones. MRS. CORA I. TUCKER, age 88, of the Alpine Community, Menlo, Georgia passed away Friday, May 25, 2012, afternoon at Her home. She was born in Trion, Georgia February 13, 1924, daughter of the late W.H. and Dora Rape Spraggins. She was a lifetime member of the Alpine Community Church graduating from Menlo High School in 1942, where she played on the girls basketball team. She was a retiree of the sample department of Best Mfg. Company. Mrs. Tucker was preceded in death by her husband, the late Roy Lesley Tucker; a grandson, Brian Avery Tucker; sisters, Ruth Della Monica, Charlsie Mae (Charlie) Miller, Louise (Shug) Martin, Beatrice (Pete) Hall; brothers, Julius (Duke) Spraggins, D.W. (Bawdy) Spraggins, Andrew (Snowball) Spraggins, and D.F. (Sike) Spraggins. 

 Surviving are sons & daughters-in-law-Dennis & Jeannie Tucker and Ralph & Martha Tucker all of Menlo; grandsons-Shane Tucker, Jason & Rebecca Tucker all of Menlo; several Nieces and Nephews also survive. 

 Funeral services will be held at the Alpine Community Church Sunday, May 27th, at 2 P.M. with Brothers Tommy Pledger and Doug Ledford officiating, interment in the Alpine Cemetery. Active Pallbearers Shane Tucker, Jason Tucker, Mike Martin, Jeff Martin, Ronnie Spraggins, and Lamar Spraggins. Homorary Pallbearers the Congregation of Alpine Community Church. MRS. MARGARET L. WARREN, age 89, of Bittings Avenue-Summerville, Georgia passed away Friday, May 25, 2012, at her residence following an extended illness. She was born in Floyd County, Georgia on August 5, 1922. Mrs. Warren was a member of Summerville First Baptist Church and was preceded in death by Her first husband the late Paul Easter. Surviving are husband Austin Warren, Jr.; daughter-Paula Easter of Summerville; grandson-Paul & Melissa Chamlee of Summerville; great granddaughter Avri Rose Chamlee; step daughter Denise Wyatt; step grandson-Stacy (Rick) Wyatt; step great grandson-Will Wyatt; sister-Betty Hendrix of Summerville; brothers-Earl Alred of Rome, James Alred of Summerville,and Eugene Alred of Colorado Springs, Colorado; several Nieces and Nephews. Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 27th, at 4:30 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Steve Alred officiating, interment in Greenhills Memory Garden. Mr. Arnold Spencer, age 72, of Hall’s Valley Road-Trion, Georgia passed away Friday, May 25, 2012, afternoon at his residence following a brief illness. Born in Campton, Kentucky on December 17, 1939, He was a son of the late John and Evelyn Collins Spencer. Mr. Spencer was retired from the Maintenance Department of Shaw Industries. Surviving are His wife-Barbara Spencer; daughters-Sandra Wilson of Tip City, Ohio and Lisa Spencer of Dayton, Ohio; sons-Stacy Spencer of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, Scotty Spencer of Raleigh, N.C., and Steve Spencer of Dayton, Ohio; Nine Grandchildren, Five Great Grandchildren, several Nieces and Nephews also survive. MRS. MARGARET ANN RHINEHART, age 91, of Mahan Road-Summerville, Georgia passed away Saturday, May 12, 2012, in the local nursing home. A Chattooga County native, She was born to the late William Taylor and Birdie Cox Scruggs on May 5, 1921. Mrs. Rhinehart was a Homemaker and was preceded in death by her husband, the late Walter “Dub” Rhinehart, on April 22, 1992, and two daughters-the late Beverly Ann Rhinehart and Glenda Sue Rhinehart. Surviving are brother & sister-in-law-James N. and Effie Scruggs; niece-Peggy Marie Busby; nephew-James N. Scruggs, Jr.; great niece-Julie Scruggs; great nephew-Daniel Taylor Scruggs; great great niece-Naomi Marie Scruggs all of Summerville. Funeral service will be held Monday, May 14th, at 11:00 A.M. from Graveside in Lyerly Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Bryant and Brother Tommy Pledger officiating. MR. JERRY WAYNE CARMON, age 59, of Trion, Georgia passed away Friday morning in a Rome hospital. Born in Trion on November 15, 1952 He was a son of the late Paul Jay and Alice Naoma Chastain Carmon. Mr. Carmon a member of Millwright Local #1263 and was preceded in death by a daughter the late Michelle Carmon and brother the late Mike Carmon. Surviving are wife-Sue Carmon; daughter-Erin Carmon; son-Jason Carmon; grandchildren-Briana Michelle and April Jaylee Carmon; Niece and Nephews also survive. Memorial service will be held Saturday, May 12th, at 4:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. MRS. JOANN BARRY BLALOCK, age 81, of Menlo, Georgia passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2012, in the local nursing home. A native of Chattooga County, Georgia, She was born to the late Jim and Gladys Wilder Barry on April 20, 1931. Mrs. Blalock was preceded in death by her husband the late Roy Martin Blalock. Surviving are daughter-Janet Ennes of Marietta; granddaughter-Merideth Zobel of Roswell; sisters-Joyce Workman of Dacula, Mary LeLaigle of Marietta, and Nina Evett of Menlo; several Nieces and Nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 4th, at 11:00 A.M. from Graveside in Alpine Cemetery, with Minister Tom Mahan and Bob Miller officiating.
