Mr. Herman A. York

MR. HERMAN A. YORK, age 78, of York Road, Summerville, Georgia passed away Friday at his residence. A native Chattooga Countian, He was born to the late Archie Dallas (Buddy) and Zella Lucille Maples York on April 4, 1935. Mr. York was Baptist by Faith and was retired from Ford Motor Company, Atlanta and Riegel Textile Corporation. Preceding Him in death was a son, the late Michael Arthur York and a sister, the late Mary Frances Dillon. Surviving are daughter and spouse-Roseanne and Bob Floyd of Rossville; sisters and spouses-Betty Sue Hayes of Summerville, Joyce Irene Moore of LaFayette, Wanda Paulette and Andy Long of Ridle, and Hazel and Doug Mattox of Calhoun; brothers and spouse-John Wayne and Jane York of Summerville and Raymond Dallas York of Lithonia; several Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Nieces, and Nephews; special friends-Jackie McClung and Family, also survive. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 30th, at 11:00 A.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Pastor Doug Mattox officiating, interment in Greenhills Memory Garden. Active Pallbearers-Andy Long, Jamey Mattox, Kevin Mattox, Tim York, Michael Long, and David Long. Visitation will be Sunday from 5 until 8 P.M. at the Funeral Home. Earle Rainwater Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
