Mr. Emmett James Parker

MR. EMMETT  JAMES  PARKER, age 81, of Bellah Avenue, Summerville, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2015, at his residence.  A native Chattooga Countian, Mr. Parker was born to the late Jessie Lee and Florence Bowling Parker, on October 2, 1933.  He was Church of God by Faith, a Veteran of Korea, serving in the U. S. Marine Corps, and was retired from Mohawk Industries.  Mr. Parker was preceded in death by a sister, the late Emily Parker, and brother, the late Charles Parker.

            Surviving are His wife of 35 years, Dicey Parker; daughters, Shelia (Doyle) King, Mrs. Donna Blackmon, Ms. Diane Reese, and Mrs. Janie Lashley all of Summerville; seven Grandchildren, ten Great Grandchildren also survive.

            Funeral services will be held Friday, July 31st, at 2:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. Andy Hutchins and Rev. Terrell McBrayer officiating, entombment in Greenhills Memory Garden.  Active Pallbearers, Gene Lashley, Dwight Bowling, Allen Trammell, James Carroll, Tim Grogan, Evan McCurry, and Ty Hutchins; Honorary Pallbearers, Nurses of Heyman Hospice Care.  The Family will receive friends, at the Funeral Home, Thursday from 6 until 8 P.M.

PADGETT

FANNIE SUE (PHYLLIS) PADGETT age 64 of Rossville, Georgia, formerly of Chattooga County, passed away Wednesday evening, July 22, 2015.  Mrs. Padgett was born January 20, 1951, to the late Houston Foy and Bessie Carolyn Stansell Palmer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings: Jimmie Ruth Sweat, Marilyn Jean Palmer, Bobby Palmer, and Kimberly Dawn Blackmon.

Survivors include her husband Frank Padgett and son Barry Padgett both of Rossville; sisters: Kathy Brown of Trion, Becky Schilling, Linda Orr, and Martha Reynolds all of Summerville, Marsha Upton and Pat Elsberry both of Lyerly; brothers: Michael Palmer of Summerville and La Don Palmer of Dalton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 25, 2015, at 1:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. John Mann and Rev. Harold Helton officiating, interment in Summerville Cemetery; active pallbearers Justin Blackmon, Rob Johnson, Stacey Reynolds, Chris Key, Josh Key.  Visitation will be at the Funeral Home Friday evening from 6:00 till 8:00 P.M.

Mr. Wayne L. Hanson

MR. WAYNE L. HANSON, age 82, of Summerville, Georgia passed away Wednesday morning, July 15, 2015, in a Rome, Georgia hospital.  He was born in Los Angeles, CA. on February 14, 1933, a son of the late Paul and Eloise Newton Hanson.  Mr. Hanson was a member of Summerville First Baptist Church, was a U. S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War, was retired Fireman Captain for West Sacramento, CA. and Office Tec. for the State of CA. 

            Surviving are His wife, Barbara Hanson; daughter & spouse, Christi & Tommy Cox of Summerville; son & spouse, Rick & Donna Hanson of Washington (state); sisters, Donna Frank of Diamond Springs, CA. and Shirley Hocker of Sacramento, CA.; grandchildren, Derek Hanson, Brad Hanson, Jared Hanson, Kyle Miller, Riley Miller, Casey Miller, Andrew Cox, Alexander Cox, and Aaron Cox; 5 Great Grandchildren; several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

            Memorial service will be held Saturday, July 18th, at 2:00 P.M. from the Summerville First Baptist Church with Dr. David Hunter officiating, interment in Georgia National Cemetery on Monday.  The Family will receive friends Saturday, from 1 P.M. until the hour of service, at the Church.  In lieu of flowers the Family request contributions be made to the Multimedia Fund of Summerville First Baptist Church.

Ms. Hazel Mae Ingram

MISS HAZEL MAE INGRAM, age 75, of March Lane, Pennville Community, Summerville, Georgia passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2015, afternoon at her residence.  A native of Trion, Georgia, She was born to the late Thomas Franklin and Edith Marie Campbell Ingram on May 5, 1940.  She was a member of the Harrell Street Church of God, an accomplished musician, especially on the guitar, piano, and organ.  Miss Ingram formerly owned and operated several grocery stores and was retired from Mount Vernon Mills, bleaching department, with 35 years of service.

            Surviving are sisters and spouses, Helen Marie & Michael T. Tucker of Summerville, Janie Sue & Sonny Roberts of Rome, and Bonnie Ruth Teems of Summerville; brother, Danny Lee Ingram of Gore Community, Summerville; former husband, Leon Dyer of LaFayette; several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

            Funeral services will be held Monday, July 20th, at 3:00 P.M. from the Harrell Street Church of God with Brother Rockland Hughes and Brother Denny Smith officiating, interment in West Hill Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers Stephen Little, Randy Teems, Joey Roberts, Tony Roberts, Shawn Tucker, and Tyler Bledsoe.   The Family will receive friends Sunday, from 6 until 8 P.M. at the Funeral Home; Miss Ingram will also be in state at the Church, Monday, from 2 P.M. until the hour of service.

Mr. Thomas Edgar Brewster

MR. THOMAS E. BREWSTER, age 71, of Highway #114, Summerville, Georgia passed away Sunday, July 5, 2015, following a sudden attack, at his residence.  Mr. Brewster was born April 7, 1944 in Valley Head, Alabama to the late William Edgar and Dovie Mae Hulgan Brewster.  Mr. Brewster was a member of South Commerce Church of Christ; a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Viet Nam and was a carpenter by trade.  He was preceded in death by sisters, Patty Sigler, Louise Brewster, Billie Jo Harkins, Ollie Mae Henderson, and Ruby Norris, brothers, James Arthur Brewster, and Thomas Henry Brewster.

            Surviving are, His wife of 49 years, Dorothy Hensley Brewster;  daughter, Karen (Danny) Wilson of South Pittsburg, TN.; sons, Thomas Gregory Brewster of San Antonio, TX, Jonathan Mark (Rebecca) Brewster of LaFayette; daughter-in-law, Kimberly Ann Brewster; grandchildren, Joshua Galen Wilson, Kelsea Nicole Wilson, Kalee Anna Brewster, Kara Alizbeth Brewster, Karlie Alexa Brewster, Jackson Mark Brewster, Kloie Ana Brewster,  Graycen Lea Brewster; sisters, Gladys Hartline, Bernice Wells, Bobbie Boling; brothers, Ronnie Brewster and Johnny Brewster; many Nieces and Nephews.


            Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 9th, at 10 A.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Minister Tom Harrison officiating and Bob Hawkins congregational song leader, interment in Greenhills Memory Garden, with Military Honors by Shanklin-Attaway American Legion Post #5 of Rome.  Active Pallbearers, Josh Wilson, Jackson Brewster, Justin Boling, Quinton Watson, David Peek, and Chris Boling; Honorary Pallbearers, Charles Rogers, Virgil Hartline, Jimmy Hartline, Phillips Wells, and Michael Lee Stancil.  The Family will receive friends Wednesday, from 6 until 9 P.M. at the Funeral Home.
