MRS. MADGE MARIE
SLATER FOX,
age 93, of Menlo, Georgia, passed away Monday, April 9, 2018, in a Rome
hospital, following a sudden illness. A
native of Whiton, Alabama, She was born to the late Hubert Milford Slater and
Nancy Elizabeth Mayfield Slater, on February 23, 1925. Mrs. Fox was a member of the Menlo First
United Methodist Church since 1951 and for 35 years served as bookkeeper for the
former Farmers & Merchants Bank of Summerville. She was preceded in death by her husband, the
late Thomas Watson Fox, Jr., former inspector for the Chattooga County Health
Department, and sisters, the late Martha Marshall and Dorothy Gilley.
Surviving are daughter, Jan Fox
Cordle and son-in-law Sam L. Cordle, Jr.; grandchildren, Sam Cordle, Josh
Cordle, and Slater Cordle; sister, Margaret Elrod; several Nieces and Nephews
also survive.
Memorial service will be Monday,
April 16th, at 3:00 P.M. from the Menlo First United Methodist
Church, with interment service in Alpine Cemetery.
