ALLEN

MRS. MILDRED ADELIA “DEE” JACKSON ALLEN, age 71, of Little Sand Mountain Community, Armuchee, Georgia, passed away Monday evening, May 14, 2018, in a Chattanooga, TN. Hospital.  Born on April 5, 1947 in Trion, Georgia, She was a daughter of the late Farise Adelia McWhorter Jackson and William Morgan “Jack” Jackson; also preceded in death by brother, Bobby Morgan Jackson and husband of 37 years, Middleton Miles Allen, III in July, 2011.  Dee was of the Baptist Faith and attended Little Sand Mountain Baptist Church, 1965 graduate of Chattooga County High School, and was retired manager of Floyd Medical Center Out Patient Rehab Center.  She loved to ride horses and quilt; was a member of Quilt of Valor and Dorcas Circle of Little Sand Mountain.

            Surviving are son, Andy and Whitney Allen of Summerville; stepson Middleton Miles Allen, IV of Lyerly; grandchildren, Karsyn and Jackson Allen, Jacob and Josh Allen; several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

            Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 19th, at 1:00 P.M. from the Little Sand Mountain Baptist Church with Rev. Miles Phillips officiating, interment in Alpine Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers Ricki Jones, Tim Conway, Greg Smith, Mike Owens,  Tim Mathis, Samuel Ortiz, and Don Murdock.  The Family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 until 9 P.M. at Earle Rainwater Funeral Home.  Flowers are accepted of contributions to the Little Sand Mt. Mr. Hubert Lynn Johnson, Sr.

MR. HUBERT LYNN JOHNSON, SR., age 74, of Gaylesville, Alabama, formerly of Summerville, passed away Sunday, May 13, 2018, at his residence.  He was born to the late Homer H. and Minnie Jo Simpson Johnson on November 30, 1943, in Niota, Tennessee.  Mr. Johnson was a retired truck driver; and was preceded in death by his wife the late Shirley Ann Parks Johnson, son, the late Hubert Lynn Johnson, Jr., and sister, the late Patricia Jo England.

            Surviving are daughters, Terra Ann Johnson Madisen and LaWanda Paige Hughes; grandchildren, Kelsey Josye Annjenett Freeman, Abigail Nicollette Madisen, Allison Keera Madisen, Austin Christopher Shafer, Jasmine Danielle Shafer Hughes; sisters, Anna Ray Woodall and Vola Mae Wofford; several Nieces and Nephews.

            Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 16th, at 3:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. Malcolm Harris and  Lamon Ware  officiating, interment in family plot of Summerville Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers Jordon Willingham, Kalen Willingham, Damion Moore, Austin Shafer, Stanley Wofford, and Andrew Freeman; Honorary Pallbearers Lamon Ware, Jasmine Hughes, Abigail Madisen, Allison Madisen, Kelsey Freeman, and Walt Woodall.  The Family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 until 9 P.M. edst from the Funeral Home.

HAMPTON

MRS. NEOMA L. HAMPTON, age 86, of Menlo, Georgia passed away Saturday, May 5, 2018, evening in the local nursing home.  Mrs. Hampton was born in Dekalb County, Alabama, on November 15, 1931, to the late Harvey J. and Fannie Kennedy Moses.  She was a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church and a retired seamstress.  Mrs. Hampton was preceded in death by her husband, the late Eugene Hampton, daughter, the late Judy Hampton, brothers, the late William Moses and Ollie Moses, grandson, the late James Tallent, Jr., and step grandson, the late Trey Walters.

            Surviving are daughters, Marsha (Steve) Tallent and Sandra Hampton Walters; son, Glen, (Angie) Hampton; brothers, Charles Moses and Roy Moses; grandchildren, Amber Tallent, Kristi Hampton, Madison Hampton; step grandchildren, Jessica Walters- Morgan, Gordon Ray Walters; great granddaughter, Bella; step great grandchildren, Morgan Ponder and Raelynn Morgan; several Nieces and Nephews.

            Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 8th, at 2:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Green and Rev. Mike Odom officiating, interment in Mount Olive Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers Donald Morgan, Steve Moses, William Bryson, Doug Moses, Steve Hill, and Daryal Moses.  The Family will receive friends Monday, from 6 until 8 P.M. at the Funeral Home.

Treva June McGuire

TREVA JUNE MCGUIRE, age 57, of Marks Road, Summerville, Georgia passed away Wednesday morning, May 2, 2018, in a Rome, Georgia hospital.  Born in LaFayette, Georgia on June 17, 1960, a daughter of the late John Henry Fowler and Barbara Jean Eaker Fowler who survives.  Mrs. McGuire was formerly employed in the coater department of Mohawk Mills. 

            Surviving are companion, Charles Hogue; Mother: Barbara Jean Eaker Fowler; daughters, Alisha Silvers, Kimberly McGuire, Rachel Dodson, and Shawna McGuire; son-Josh McGuire; sisters, Eva & Stevie Lay, Susan & Mike Palmer; brothers, Johnny Fowler, James Fowler, and Mark Fowler; Fifteen Grandchildren; several Nieces and Nephews.

            Funeral services will be held Friday, May 4th, at 2:00 P.M. from the Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Duvall and Rev. Steve Morrison officiating, interment in Subligna Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers Garrett Silvers, Stevie Lay, Michael Bean, Dakota Smith, Calvin Hogue, Chris Dodson; Honorary Pallbearers J. C. Elam, Brady Lynn, and Dewayne Hogue.  Visitation Friday from Noon until 2 P.M. at the Funeral Home.

Mrs. Madge Marie Slater Fox

MRS. MADGE MARIE SLATER FOX, age 93, of Menlo, Georgia, passed away Monday, April 9, 2018, in a Rome hospital, following a sudden illness.  A native of Whiton, Alabama, She was born to the late Hubert Milford Slater and Nancy Elizabeth Mayfield Slater, on February 23, 1925.  Mrs. Fox was a member of the Menlo First United Methodist Church since 1951 and for 35 years served as bookkeeper for the former Farmers & Merchants Bank of Summerville.  She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Thomas Watson Fox, Jr., former inspector for the Chattooga County Health Department, and sisters, the late Martha Marshall and Dorothy Gilley.

            Surviving are daughter, Jan Fox Cordle and son-in-law Sam L. Cordle, Jr.; grandchildren, Sam Cordle, Josh Cordle, and Slater Cordle; sister, Margaret Elrod; several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

            Memorial service will be Monday, April 16th, at 3:00 P.M. from the Menlo First United Methodist Church, with interment service in Alpine Cemetery.
