MR. JAMES L. (PAT) PLEDGER, Sr., age 70, of Ridgecrest Drive-Summerville, Georgia passed away Thursday (June 11, 2009) evening in a Rome hospital following an extended illness. Born in Boaz, Alabama on August 14, 1938, a son of the late John Thomas and Bessie Turner Pledger. He was retired from auto body repair shop and bus driver. Mr. Pledger was member of West Summerville Baptist Church and Alpine Lodge #211 F & AM. He was preceded in death by a son the late Christopher Kyle Pledger on May 21, 2007.

Surviving are wife-Shirley Mosier Pledger; daughter & son-in-law-Patricia & Lee Colgrove; son & daughter-in-law-Jimmy & Julie Pledger all of Summerville; sisters & brothers-in-law-Betty and Jerry Johnson of Summerville, Gay and Gary Shaw of Lyerly; brothers & sisters-in-law-T. C. & Beatrice Pledger, Bob & Elaine Pledger, and Bill & Jenny Pledger all of Summerville; Artis & Patricia Pledger of Lyerly; Eight Grandchildren; Two Great-Grandchildren; several Nieces, and Nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Monday (June 15th) at 2:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. LaVon Humphrey and Pastor Tommy Pledger officiating, interment in Perennial Springs Cemetery, with Masonic Rites @ graveside by Alpine Lodge #211 F & AM. Active Pallbearers Nephews, Honorary Pallbearers member of West Summerville Baptist Church, members of Alpine Lodge #211 F & AM, Chattooga County Bus Drivers, former “Riders” of Pat’s School Bus, Alfred Crabtree, Dennis Elrod, Bill Elsberry, Ricky Campbell, Gordon Boyd, Jerry Mitchell, and William "Fuzz" Anderson. Visitation will be Sunday from 6 until 9 P.M. @ the Funeral Home. Flowers are accepted or contributions may be made to the West Summerville Baptist Church Youth Fund or the American Cancer Society.
