Wooten, Mr. William Rother

MR. WILLIAM ROTHER WOOTEN, age 97, of Summerville, Georgia, passed away Friday, March 1, 2013, at his residence.  A native of Dekalb County, Alabama He was born to the late Lon and Rosetta Reeves Wooten on October 4, 1915.  Mr. Wooten was a charter member of West Berryton Faith Temple, attended the Lyerly First Baptist Church, and retired from the cutting department of Best Mfg. Company.  He was preceded in death by the following children-Carolyn Helton, Henry L. “Buddy” Wooten, Truman Wooten, and Billy Fane Wooten, a grandson-the late Todd Helton, three Sisters, and five Brothers all died earlier.

            Surviving are His wife, to whom he was married 76 years, Lillie B. Willoughby Wooten; daughter & son-in-law-Diane and Larry Hunter of Summerville; sisters-Viola Hamilton of Chickmauga and Jean Ezell of Scottsboro, AL.; 8 Grandchildren, 15 Great Grandchildren, 3 Great Great Grandchildren; several Nieces and Nephews.

            Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 3th, at 2 P.M. from the J. D. Hill memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Dr. James Baird officiating, interment in the Family plot of Summerville Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers Larry Hunter, Jeff Ramsey, Tony Wooten, Shane Miller, Chris Wooten, and Greg Comer.  The Family will receive friends at Earle Rainwater Funeral Home Sunday from 12 noon until the service hour.
