MRS. JEANETTE HAWKINS, age 90, of Summerville, Pennville Community, passed away Friday morning in a LaFayette health care facility. She was born on October 19, 1922, a daughter of the late Shirley and Willie Mae Marshall Jones. Mrs. Hawkins was a member of Pennville Baptist Church and was a retired Lab Tech from Riegel Textile Corp. Beside parents, She was preceded in death by a grandson-the late Jody Maddux and brother-the late G.M. “Buck” Jones.
Surviving are husband-Joseph V. “Shorty” Hawkins; daughter and son-in-law Pam and Lynn Maddux of LaFayette; son and daughter-in-law Curtis and Anne Hawkins of Summerville; sister-Virginia Hayes of Dawsonville; sister-in-law- Faye Jones of Pensacola, FL.; grandchildren-Tracy Maddux, Lynn Maddux, Kari Maddux Brown (Rusty), Ian Hawkins, Anne Hawkins, and Erin Thomas (Eric). great grandchildren- Rayven Lawrence, Ryleigh Lawrence, Ransley Lawrence, and Amelia Thomas. Several Nieces and Nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 3rd, at 2:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. Vernon Johnson and Rev. Mike Hawkins officiating, interment in West Hill Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be Robert King, David Richardson, Jimmy Hayes, John Shankles, Robert Williams and Kenneth Blansit. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of Pennville Baptist Church. Visitation will be at the Funeral Home, Sunday from 6:00 till 8:00 P.M.
