MRS. LOU ELLEN
DURHAM, age
93, of Summerville, Georgia, passed away Friday, December 1, 2017, evening in
the local nursing home. She was born in
Walker County, Georgia on October 28, 1924, a daughter of the late William M.
and Ola Tinney Broome. Mrs. Durham was
retired from the spinning department of Mt. Vernon/Riegel Mills after 45 years
of service, was a Charter member of Midway Baptist Church, and was preceded in
death by her husband, the late Thomas Young Durham.
Surviving are Her son &
daughter-in-law, Thomas Wayne and Jill Durham; grandchildren and spouse, Josh
Durham, Tiffany and L.J. Schrader; great grandchildren, Landyn Durham, Brooklyn
Durham, and Damin Schrader; sister, Inez Hardeman; brother, Tommy Broome;
several Nieces and Nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held
Monday, December 4th, at 11:00 A.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial
Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home, with Rev. Robert Patterson and Minister
Tommy Broome officiating, interment in Greenhills Memory Garden. Active Pallbearers Josh Durham, Landyn
Durham, Damin Schrader, L. J. Schrader, Brooklyn Durham, and Ben Johnson;
Honorary Pallbearer Rick Silberman, Billy Dempsey, and Nurses and Staff of
Oakview Nursing & Rehab. Center. The
Family will receive friends Sunday from 6 until 8 P.M. at the Funeral Home.
Earle Rainwater Funeral Home in
charge of arrangements.
