Mrs. Jo Keen Shamblin

MRS. JO KEEN SHAMBLIN, age 86 of Highway #337-Summerville, Georgia, Teloga Community passed away Sunday, July 15, 2018, at Redmond Regional Medical Center.  A lifetime native of Chattooga County, Georgia, Mrs. Shamblin was born May 9, 1932 to the late Elgin E. and Bertie Simmons Keen.  In addition to Her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William R. Shamblin, to whom she was married for 60 years, brother, Elbert Keen and sister, Minnie Allmon.  Mrs. Shamblin was a lifelong member of the Beersheba Presbyterian Church and served on the Teloga Volunteer Fire Department Board and the Macedonia Cemetery Committee.

            Surviving are son and daughter-in-law, William Douglas and Keitha Cash Shamblin, Sr.; grandchildren and spouses, Tonya R. and Kevin Woods and William Douglas and Beverly Shamblin, Jr.; great grandchildren, Brianna Woods Chastain, Billy Woods, Ben Woods, and Mason Shamblin; sisters, Evelyn Willingham, Shelby Ward, and Mary Floyd; brother, David Keen, Sr.; several Nieces and Nephews.

            Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 18th, at 11:00 A.M. from the Beersheba Presbyterian Church with Pastor Jennifer Lee officiating, interment in the Macedonia Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers are Douglas Shamblin, Jr., Kevin Woods,  Billy Woods, Gene Wesson, Tim Wesson, and John Bertrand.  Honorary Pallbearers are Members of the Teloga Volunteer Fire Department, Employees of Amedysis Home Health, and members of the Beersheba Presbyterian Church.  Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers the Family request Memorial contributions be made to the Macedonia Cemetery Fund, #488 East Teloga Road, Summerville, Georgia-30747.

            The Family will be at the home of son, William Douglas Shamblin, Sr., #488 East Teloga Road, Summerville, Georgia.


            Earle Rainwater Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
