Mrs. Katherine McCauley

MRS. KATHERINE MCCAULEY, age 90, Summerville, Georgia, passed away Friday, April 12, 2019, in the local nursing home.  Born in Cedar Bluff, Alabama on March 20, 1929 to the late William (W.T.) and Ettie Jane Abercrombie Millican.  She was a member of West Summerville Baptist  Church and an Honorary member of Mount Zion Independent Church.  Mrs. McCauley was retired from the creeling department of Mohawk Industry and was preceded in death by her husband, the late Alton McCauley, sister, the late Willie Jane Millican, and brothers, the late J. B. Millican and Cecil Millican.

            Surviving are sisters and brother-in-law, Annie Ruth and Robert Love and Edith Adams; several Nieces and Nephews.

            Funeral services will be held Monday, April 15th, at 1:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. Freddy Waldrop and Rev. Tracy Espy officiating, interment in West Hill Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers  Robert Love, Curtis Cleveland, Brandon Seymore, Chad Millican, and David Espy; Honorary Pallbearers Hugh Millican, Wayne Lee, Rollett Evett, and members of West Summerville Baptist Church.  The Family will receive friends Sunday from 6 until 8 P.M. at the Funeral Home.

Mr. Leonard Smith

MR. LEONARD SMITH, age 88, of Dogwood Circle, Lyerly, Georgia passed away Sunday afternoon, April 7, 2019,  at his residence.  Born in Menlo, Georgia on August 7, 1930, he was a son of the late Robert (Bob Lee) Smith and Lula Truman Smith Pinion.  Mr. Smith was a member of Oak Hill United Methodist Church, a Veteran of the U. S. Army serving during the Korean War, was retired Post Master of the Lyerly Post office, and was a member of Lyerly Lodge #338 F. & A.M.  He was preceded in death by his wife, of 64 years, the late Betty Marie Harrison Smith, Parents, 10 siblings, Robert Lee Smith, Jr.Harold Bayne Smith, Elsie Louise Smith- Daniel, Vivian Marie Smith, Jasper Leon Smith, Wilburn Edwin Smith, Georgia Beatrice Smith, William Lawrence Smith, Betty Laura Smith, Evelyn Delores Smith.

            Surviving are nieces and nephews, Barbara Massey Reece, Kelly and Jeff Floyd, Grace, Sophie, Leighanne, Noah, and Jesse; Barbara Daniel, Bruce and Stephanie Daniel, Grant and Garvin; Linda and Brian Guthrie, Danny, Amber, Dustin, Ian, and Ryan; Debbie and Phil Rich, Billy, Jenny, Jimmy, and Jonathon; Eddie and Jerri Massey, Vanessa, Lee, C.E., Zaidee, and Sammy; Brad and Beth Harrison, Carol Taylor, Dianne Smith, Greg Harrison, Jean Harrison, and Paul Harrison.

            Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 13th, at 3:00 P.M. from the Oak Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. Jack Gillespie and Rev. Phil Rich officiating, with Lyerly Lodge #338 F & AM rendering Masonic rites, interment in Oak Hill Cemetery, with military honors by American Legion Shanklin Attaway Post #5 of Rome.  Mr. Smith will be in state at his residence #175 Dogwood Circle, off Oak Hill Road, Lyerly, Georgia, where the Family will receive friends from 2:00 until 6:00 P.M. Friday.  Flowers or donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital are appreciated.

Mrs. Louise Stoker

MRS. LOUISE STOKER, age 95, of Bittings Avenue, Summerville, Georgia passed away Sunday afternoon in the local nursing home.  A native of Fannin County, Georgia, She was born to the late Andrew J. and Dora Stepp Campbell on October 14, 1923.  Mrs. Stoker was a member of Springcreek Baptist Church, a homemaker, and was preceded in death by her husband, the late Claude Stoker, son-in-law, Jay Shore, grandson, John Bohannon, great grandson, Jonathan Shore, and siblings, Bonnie Robinson, Edith Ingram, Evelyn Wilson, Mary Blackmon, Bertie Bennie, and Dorothy Campbell, Frank, Earl, Roger, and Jess Campbell.

            Surviving are daughter, Ellie Shore; granddaughter, Sarah Shore; grandsons, Casey Bohannon and David Bohannon; sister, Pearl Barfield; brother, Johnnie Campbell; eight Great Grandchildren, five Great Great Grandchildren; several Nieces and Nephews.

            Funeral service will be held Thursday, April 11th, at 5:00 P.M. from Graveside in West Hill Cemetery, with Minister Mark Hogan officiating.  Active Pallbearers Casey, David, Chris, Shawn, and Brendon Bohannon, and Scott Galla;  Honorary Pallbearers Staff of Oakview Nursing and Rehab Center.  The Family will receive friends Thursday from 3:30 until 4:45 P.M. at the Funeral Home.

Mrs. Frances Maxey Holt

MRS. FRANCES MAXEY HOLT, age 86, of Jenkins Gap Road, Summerville, Georgia passed away Friday, April 5, 2019, evening at her residence.  A native Chattooga Countian, She was born to the late Dewey Maxey, Sr. and Myrtle Maynor Maxey, on January 6, 1933.  Mrs. Holt was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church, a homemaker, and was preceded in death by her husband, the late James Thomas (Tommy) Holt, Jr. on May 30, 2018, also preceded by Brothers and Sisters.

            Surviving are daughters and spouses, Regina (Steve) Anderson, Teresa Lynn (Danny)  Pierce, and Kay (David) Swanson; son and spouse, David (Alisha) Holt; sister, Cathryn Pittman; brothers, Ricky Maxey and Ralph Maxey; grandchildren, Joi Beth Hoseney, Dusty Swanson, Ross Anderson, Payton Anderson, Kailin Womack, Eli Holt, Nico Holt; great grandchildren, Briley Womack, and Luke Womack; several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

            Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 13th, at 11:00 A.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Bryant officiating, interment in Bethel Presbyterian Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers Steve Anderson, Ross Anderson, Payton Anderson, Danny Pierce, Eli Holt, and Alan Maxey.  The Family will receive friends Saturday morning from 10 until 11 A.M. at the Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers the Family suggest contributions to the Bethel Presbyterian Cemetery Fund, c/o Sam Jones, #1430 John Jones Road, Summerville, Georgia-30747.
