Mr. Jackie Matney

MR. JACKIE MATNEY, age 61, of James Street, Summerville, Georgia passed away Wednesday evening, May 15, 2019, in a Rome hospital following an extended illness.  A native of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, He born to the late James H. and Ethel Murdock Matney on August 28, 1957.  He was retired from Mount Vernon Mills, were he was a hyster driver; and was preceded in death by siblings the late Ruthie Hamby, Benny Matney, and James Matney.

            Surviving are His companion, JoAnn Edwards; siblings, Rachel Ashworth, Ray Cundiff, Kay Hamby, Jeannie Robertson, and Wayne Matney.

            Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 18th, at 2:00 P.M. from the J. D. Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. Ralph Sumner and Rev. Kevin Norton officiating, interment in Chapel Hill Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers James Abernathy, Curtis Cochran, Anthony Hamby, Dewey Padgett, Daniel Laney, and Preston Allmon.  The family will receive friends Friday from 6 until 8 P.M. at the Funeral Home.

Miss Gracie Lea Edwards

MISS GRACIE LEA EDWARDS, age 11 days, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2019, in a Rome hospital.  Born on April 27, 2019, She was the daughter of Chelsea Abbie Lea and Cody Edwards.

            Surviving are Parents; grandparents, Dewayne and Chrystal Edwards, Mandy Lea, Charlotte Brown, Marvin Edwards, Ava Hunter, and Bonnie Blackmon; several Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins also survive.

            Memorial service was held Tuesday, May 14th, at 2:30 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Johnson officiating.

Mr. Corey Trent Fisher

MR. COREY TRENT FISHER, age 47, of Trion-Teloga Road, Trion, Georgia passed away Wednesday afternoon, May 8, 2019, at his residence following a sudden attack.  Born in Dalton, Georgia on September 13, 1971, He was a son of the   late Virgil C. and Margaret Virginia Pilcher Fisher.  Before retirement, due to ill health, He was café manager at Shorter University.

            Surviving are brother, Ron Fisher of Summerville; Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces and Great Nephews, and Great Great Nieces and Nephews; Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins also survive.

            A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 8, 2019, at 2:00 P.M. EST. from the Centre Church of Christ, Centre, Alabama with Minister Ron Fisher officiating, inurnment in West Hill Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers the Family suggest contributions for a cemetery monument for Corey.

Mr. Dewey Nolan Allmond

MR. DEWEY NOLAN ALLMOND, age 60, of Summerville, Georgia , loving father, son, and brother, passed away suddenly, April 30, 2019.  He was a member of the Faith and Character Building Ministry at Walker State Prison, a member of the choir, coaching the men’s softball team.  Mr. Allmond was very active in the ministry and was working on an associates degree in theology, hoping to continue to minister to others through his testimony.  He was a carpenter by trade, spending spare time drawing and planning beautiful homes to build through his contracting business.  He had a passion for softball and competing in any sport he could be involved in.   He always made you smile and laugh with his quick wit and wonderful sense of humor.

            Surviving are mother, Glenda Allen; father, Samuel Allmond; daughters, India Elizabeth Jones, Kristen Allmond Rose; sons, Kory Allmond and Nolan Allmond; grandchildren, Kaleb Jones and Emmersyn Rose; brothers, Harold Dewayne (Ruby) Allmond and Derrill Lee (Stephanie) Gilliland; sisters, Sherryl Kay Gilliland (Dennis) Broome, Becky Ledbetter(Mark) Brown, and Tracy Allmond  Duvall; several Nieces and Nephews.
            Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Lee and Rev. Jason Lee officiating, interment in West Hill Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers Joseph Allen Hays, Robert Jason Hays, Dakota Weston Brown, Samuel Charles Allmond, Joshua Dewayne Allmond, Franky Eugene Majors, Troy Allen Staehly, Tony Ray Staehly; Honorary Pallbearers members of Faith and Character Building Ministry at Walker State Prison.  The Family will receive friends Saturday from 6 until 8 P.M. at the Funeral Home.
