Mrs. Annie W. Simpson

ANNIE MAUDE WATKINS WATERS SIMPSON. . . . .

            Although our emotions and human flesh morn the loss of Her earthly body and all that she did to help us on our individual journeys, all those little lessons, reprimands, and hugs; today is a day of celebration.  We lift our glasses up in celebration of a beautiful life, gentle spirit, and an honorable matriarch having crossed the river.  Those Golden Bells are certainly ringing for Annie Maude Watkins Waters Simpson, born July 21, 1918.  Perfect submission all is at rest.

            Annie lived in Menlo, Georgia and passed peacefully Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Floyd Medical Center, she was born in McGregor, Texas to William and Lillie Long Watkins.  As a retired LPN, She never stopped caring for those in need.  She was preceded in death by her loving son, Ronald Lee Waters, and daughter, Linda Morene Waters; a loss she never really learned to live with, and today with whom she is in rejoicing reunion.  She was matriarch of a grand clan, each of which will have the pleasure to feel her presence in their lives in so many ways.  Her son, Raymond Waters and wife Sue, a daughter, Donna Wright and husband Ralph, sons, David Waters and wife, Marsha, and Aaron Waters and wife, Stacey, have each known her love personally.  Annie sewed many quilts with her kind hands, for beloved grandchildren, and this is a keepsake each shall treasure; Ronald Waters, Jr., Todd Waters, Karen Jesup, Keysha Peed, Raymond Waters, Jr., Kari McClure, Teena Donnell, Hugh Wright, Lori Davis, Melody Crow, Fonda Henderson, Amy Peterson, Suzanne McLain, Hope Money, Missy Braden, Michelle Ritchey, Adam Waters, Mallory Waters and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

            Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 9th, at 2:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Mr. Gary McCurdy officiating, interment in the family lot of Summerville Cemetery.  Pallbearers include Hugh Wright, Jacob Peterson Ray Waters, Adam Waters, Ethan Young, and Matt Money.  The family will receive friends Tuesday from noon until the hour of service at the funeral Home.

BLACKMON

MS. JOYCE SPARKS BLACKMON, age 73, of Ringgold, Georgia formerly of Chattooga County, Georgia passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2015, in a Rome hospital.  A native of Hamilton County, Tennessee, She was born to the late Howard and Gladys Harvey Morgan on September 16, 1941.  She was retired from the State of Georgia Mental Health Agency, having worked with children having substance abuse difficulties for 30 years, prior to this she was a cosmetologist in Chattooga County, Georgia.  Ms. Blackmon was preceded in death by a brother the late Gene Morgan.

            Surviving are daughters, Teresa Darlene Lanier of Ringgold, Kathy Corbitt and Sheila Hill both of Warner Robbins; grandchildren, Jason Cash, Joseph Palmer, Eddie Helms, Ashley Blackmon, Michelle Helms, Emily Palmer; Eleven Great Grandchildren; sister, Vivian Morgan; several Nieces and Nephews.

            Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 7th, at 3:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home, with Pastor David Smith and Mrs. Connie Witt officiating, private interment will follow.  Active Pallbearers Jason Cash, Joseph Palmer, Eddie Helms, Kendel Baker, Grady Loveless, and Kenny Hollingsworth; Honorary Pallbearers Marsha Farrow, Ann Duncan, Jon Payne, Pam Maddox, and Pat Hollingsworth.  The Family will receive friends Sunday, at the Funeral Home, from two o’clock until the hour of service.

Mrs. Vesta Marie Grindstaff

MRS. VESTA MARIE GRINDSTAFF, age 87, of Longhollow Road, Trion, Georgia passed away Sunday, May 31, 2015, from injuries received in an automobile accident, near Trion.  She was born to, the late Grover Cleveland and Mary Meisenhelter Gould, on December 28, 1927 in Joplin, Missouri.  Ms. Vesta was a retired medical records technician for Ozark Mental Health, and a member of Summerville First United Methodist Church.  She was preceded in death by her husband, the late James A. Grindstaff, Jr., two Sisters, and three Brothers.

            Survivors include son & spouse, Jim and Patti Grindstaff of Trion; grandsons and spouses, James IV & Melissa Grindstaff and Jada Ryan & Cheryl Grindstaff; great grandchildren, Jackson, Nolen, Allison, and Wyatt Grindstaff; several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

            Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 3rd, at 3:00 P.M. from the Summerville First United Methodist Church with Pastor Mike Pinson officiating, interment in Pine Knoll Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers Sheriff Mark Schrader, Chief Jason Kellett, Commissioner Jason Winters, Ricky Hughes, Honorary Pallbearers, the Triangle Sunday School Class of Summerville First United Methodist Church. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2:00 P. M. until the hour of service at the Church.

Mr. Charles Meredith Tutton, Jr.

MR. CHARLES MEREDITH TUTTON, JR., age 83, of Goodwin Drive, Summerville, Georgia passed away Saturday, May 30, 2015, at his residence.  He was a son of the late C. M. Tutton, Sr. and the late Ola H. Herring Tutton.  Mr. Tutton was a Veteran of Korea serving in the U. S. Navy, a member of American Legion Post #129, V.F.W. Post #6688, and a member of Chattooga Lodge #704 F & AM.  He was a partner in the former Tutton Auto Parts Company.  Mr. Tutton was preceded in death by his wife, the late Toni Woods Tutton on August 22, 2014.

            Surviving are sons-Charles Randall Tutton of New Zeland and William Meredith “Bill” Tutton of Summerville; grandchildren, Nicholas Tutton and Natalie Tutton; sister, Martha Ballenger of Summerville.

            Funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 3, 2015, at 1:00 P.M. from Graveside in Lyerly Cemertery with Mr. Sam Finster officiating.  The Family request no flowers and suggest contributions to the Hope Rebirth Homeless Shelter #50 Eleanor Avenue, Summerville, Georgia.
