Mr. David Dwight Young

MR. DAVID DWIGHT YOUNG, age 64, of Tate Road, Trion, Georgia passed away Monday, May 8, 2017, morning in a Rome hospital.  A native Chattooga Countian, He was born on November 17, 1952, to the late Herman Young and Dorothy Frances Cordle Austin, who survives.  David was a member and Deacon of the Summerville First Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday School and was a member of the Adult Choir.  Beside His father, was preceded by a sister, the late Doris Edwards.

            Surviving are wife, Mary Johnson Young; Mother, Dorothy Austin; sister, Mary Young and Nancy Mauaghan of Pennsylvania; several Nieces and Nephews.

            Funeral services were Wednesday, May 10^th, at 2:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Dr. Paul Mason and Rev. Billy Dempsey officiating, interment in Greenhills Memory Garden.  Active Pallbearers Larry Gilreath, Michael Young, John McGraw, Rod Hayes, Mike Poole; Honorary Pallbearers John Hayes, Charlie Williams, Verlon Thompson, and Gaylon Rush.

Mr. Kelley Edgeworth

Mr. Kelley Amos Edgeworth, age 89, of Summerville, Georgia passed away Sunday, April 30, 2017, in a Rome hospital.  He was born in Trion, Georgia, on October 10, 1927, a Son of the late Charles and Lena Hunter Edgeworth.  Mr. Edgeworth was retired from Chattooga County Public Works and was a member of the Community Holiness Church.  He was preceded in death by a daughter the late Shirley Ann Edgeworth.

            Surviving are his wife, Betty Ann Siffles Edgeworth; son Johnny Edgeworth; Grandson Joseph Edgeworth; Great Granddaughter Whitley Chandler; several Nieces and Nephews.

            Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 3rd, at 2:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Stevie Collins and Rev. Paul Edgeworth officiating, interment in Summerville Cemetery.   Active Pallbearers: T. J. Fountain, Brandon Fountain, Jack Siffles, Jr., Michael Dooley, Robert Siffles, Russell Greene, Colt Siffles. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 til 8 P.M. at the Funeral Home.

Mr. Robert Loyd Pierce

MR. ROBERT LOYD PIERCE, age 53, of Blake Street-Summerville, Georgia passed away Thursday, April 13, 2017, at his residence.  He was born on November 28, 1963 to the late Bernie Pierce and Eva Jo Luallen Pierce, who survives.  Mr. Pierce was employed with Trees Unlimited, and was preceded in death by sisters, the late Diane Gazaway and Wanda Lee, and a brother, the late Lee Pierce.

            Surviving are Mother, Eva Jo Pierce of Summerville; daughter & spouse, Alicia Marianne & Jason Gray of Trion; son & spouse, Christopher Robert & Nicole Pierce of Summerville; adopted daughter, Lindsey Souder of Cherokee Co., Al.; sister, Kathy Pierce; brother, James Pierce both of Summerville; grandchildren, Hailey Pierce, Aleviea Pierce, Savannah Gray, and Alexis Gray.

            Funeral service will be held Monday, April 17^th, at 4:30 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel with  Rev. Sanford Deberry officiating.  The Family will receive friends Monday from 2:30 until the hour of service at the Funeral Home.  The Family request no flowers, suggest contributions to the American Cancer Society.

Mr. Thomas Lamar Collins

MR. THOMAS LAMAR COLLINS, age 77, of Lindale, Georgia, formerly of Chattooga County, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2017, in the local nursing home.  A native of Trion, Georgia, Mr. Collins was born to the late Marvin and Natalie Collins, on August 26, 1939.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Mozelle Luallen Collins, sons, the late Michael Anthony Collins & Thomas Ray Collins, and a daughter, the late Kathy Lynn Dodd.

            Surviving are son, Gary F. Collins of Summerville, sister, Elaine Collins Blackmon of Summerville, grandchildren, Gary L. Collins, Mindy Lynn Collins Roaderick, Kelsie Ashmore, Jason & Jessica Collins, Jesse & Christy Dodd, Bryan & Breanna Ashmore, Kaitlyn & Homer Williams and Families; several Great Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews also survive.

            Memorial service will be held Monday, April 17^th, at 1:00 P.M. from the Pentecostal Power Church with Stevie Collins and Jimmy Collins officiating.

Mrs. Mamie Adaline Dougherty

MRS. MAMIE ADALINE DOUGHERTY, age 101, of Hwy 157, Cloudland, Georgia passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2017, afternoon.  Mrs. Dougherty was born in Murray County, Georgia on November 11, 1915; a daughter of the late Julius and Alice Henry Shipman.  She was a member of Lookout Hall Church of Christ, retired from E. T. Barwick Mills, and was preceded in death by her husband, the late William Robert Dougherty, and brothers, Carl Shipman, Earl Shipman, and Charles Shipman.  Special thanks to a special niece, Joan Hawkins, Sandy Weathers, and all care givers.

            Surviving are Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces, and Great Nephews.

            Funeral service will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:00 P.M. from Graveside in Mount Olive Cemetery, with Minister Emerson Blythe officiating.  Pallbearers Gianni Shipman, Jimmy Rector, Logan Groce, Tanner Groce, Mason Schrader, and Bryn Hutchins. Visitation will be at graveside prior to service, Thursday.

Mr. Daniel L. Huskey

MR. DANIEL L. HUSKEY, age 59, of State Line Road, Cloudland, Georgia, passed away Monday, April 3, 2017, morning at his residence following an illness.  He was born in Fort Payne, Alabama on March 10, 1958 to the late David Franklin and Mary Ruth Holbrook Huskey; he was a supervisor for Harriett-Henderson Mills.

            Surviving are wife, Linda Huskey; sisters & spouse, Charla Welch of Summerville and Kim & Donna McGuire of Cloudland; brother & spouse, Charles & Karen Huskey of Athens, Tennessee; nieces & nephews, Mike and Margaret McClellan and Mark and Michell Ford, David & Hope Huskey, Alex Huskey, Mary Bearden, Anna Wright, Alex & Andy Wright, & Charletta Samples.

            Funeral service will held held Thursday at 3:30 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Odom officiating.  Pallbearers, Mike McClellian, T. R.
