Mrs. Willie Lois Bearden

MRS. WILLIE LOIS BEARDEN, age 92, of Kirby Street, Summerville, Georgia passed away Wednesday afternoon, January 1, 2020, at her residence. Native to Murray County, Georgia, She was born to the late Carl Anderson and Ethel Parker Bennett on November 28, 1927.   Mrs. Bearden was a member of Lyerly First Baptist Church and was retired from the Chattooga County Food Service.  She was preceded in death by husband, the late Rev. Willie Bearden, granddaughter-Kimberly Renee Cargle, son-David Moore, sisters, Pearlie H. Parker, Frances E. Goss, Jewell E. Massengill, Louise Queen, brothers, James Edward Bennett, Bunyan Hyram Bennett,  John R. Bennett, and Julian G. Bennett, all previously passed away.

            Surviving are sons and daughters, Jan Moore, Sue Jackson, Tim and Becky Moon, Ronnie and Sarah Cargle, Steve and Sandra Peppers, and Steve and Kathy Bailey; 11 Grandchildren; 28 Great Grandchildren; 2 Great Great Grandchildren; brother, Charles H. Bennett; several Nieces and Nephews.

            Funeral services will be held Monday, January 6th, at 2:00 P.M. from the Summerville First Baptist Church with Reverends Barry Peppers, Steve Peppers, Joel Smith, Trey Williams, and George Pinion officiating, interment in Summerville Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers the following grandsons Jon Courtney, Chris Moore, Billy Peppers, Jake Bailey, Jimmy Crib, Frankie Clark, and Mark Clayton; Honorary Pallbearers the Golden Bells Sunday School Class of Lyerly First Baptist Church, Friends and Neighbors of Kirby Street, and Nurses of Transition Hospice.  The Family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 until 8 P.M. at the Funeral Home;  Mrs. Bearden will also be in state at the Summerville First Baptist Church, Monday from 1 until 2 P.M.  At other hours the Family will be at the residence #90 Kirby Street in Summerville.  The Family request no flowers, and suggest contributions to the Gideons.

TODD

MR. JOHN MILTON “JOHNNY” TODD, SR., age 81, of Highway #114, Summerville, Georgia passed away Tuesday, afternoon, December 24, 2019, at his residence, following an extended illness.  Born in Broomtown, Alabama on October 4, 1938, and raised in Jamestown, Alabama, he was a son of the late Milton and Ethel McCullough Todd.  Mr. Todd was retired from ITT Lester Automotives and attended the Pennville Church of Christ.  He loved vegetable gardening, hunting, and the outdoors.  John was preceded in death by his wife, the late Charlotte Kay Johnson Todd, sons, the late Jeff Todd and Michael Thompson, and a sister, the late Louise Bynum.

            Surviving are daughters, Tara (Joey) Jones and Secret (Phil) Ingle; sons, John M. Todd, Jr. (Leigh) and Britt (Denise) Todd, sisters, Azie Crane and Karen Warren, a brother, Gene Todd, several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

            Funeral Service will be held Saturday, December 28, 2019 at 11 a.m. from the Pennville Church of Christ with Minister Robby Eversole officiating, interment in Greenhills Memorial Garden.  Active Pallbearers will be Britt Todd, John Todd, Jr., Levi Hatcher, Taylor Hatcher, Brier Ingle, Bud Todd, Landon Jones, and Austyn Todd. The family will receive friends Friday, December 27, 2019 from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Pennville Church of Christ.

Mr. Jeffery Lynn (Jeff) Teague

MR. JEFFERY LYNN (JEFF) TEAGUE, age 51, of Orchard Road, Summerville, Georgia, passed away unexpected, Tuesday morning, December 3, 2019, at his residence.  Jeff was born in Rome, Georgia on February 3, 1968, was a son of the late Geneva Espy Teague and Eddie Teague who survives.  He attended the Freedom Tabernacle.

            Surviving are father, Eddie Teague; brother, Ray Teague; several Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins also survive.

            Funeral services will be held Friday, December 6th, at 2:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Pastor David Reeves officiating, interment in the Family Plot in West Hill Cemetery.  The Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home Friday from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M.

Mrs. Sybil Hames Langston

MRS. SYBIL HAMES LANGSTON, age 77, of Rome, Georgia, formerly of Dry Valley Road, Summerville, passed away  Wednesday afternoon, November 20, 2019, in a Rome Senior Center.  Born in Tunnel Hill, Georgia on July 16, 1942, She was a daughter of the late Fred Joe and Myrtle Ruth Smith Hames.  She was a school Teacher, retired from the Menlo School after many years of service and a member of the New Beginnings Baptist Church.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, the late Don F. Langston, sisters, the late Jean Ponder, Elizabeth Gill, Virginia Gunn, and Linda Edwards, and brothers, the late Bob Hames, Fred “Cooter” Hames, and Herman Hames.

            Surviving are daughter and son-in-law, Valarie and Mitch Glass; granddaughters, Lindsey Glass and Keri Glass; brother, James Richard Hames; several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

            Funeral services will be held Friday, November 22nd, at 1:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Pastor Ken Johnson officiating, interment in Summerville Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers Jeffery Edwards, Chris Mauer, Fred Gunn, Christopher Mauer, and Billy Joe Hames; Honorary Pallbearers, Staff of Riverwood Senior Living and former Teachers of Menlo School.  The Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home Friday from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Menlo School STEM LAD or Jekyll Student Scholarship Fund, at any United Community Bank.
