MR. JOE GANNON, age 84, of Shields Road, (Subligna Community) Summerville, Georgia passed away Thursday (July 23, 2009) at his residence. A native of Saint Joseph, Missouri Mr. Gannon was born February 5, 1925 to the late Donald G. and Frances Wolf Boyer, and was raised in Chicago, Illinois by his adopted mother-Grace Estelle Gannon. He was retired from the ground crew of Transworld Airlines and a member of Horizon Baptist Fellowship.
Surviving are his wife-Ruby Hayes Jennings Dodd Gannon; step-children-Karen and the late Rusty Bridges, Kenneth and Debbie Jennings, Allene and Doug Spain, Laura and Paul Lee, and Earlene and Glenn Moore; 14 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren; sister-Virginia Hoffmaster; several cousins.
Memorial services will be held Sunday, July 26th) at 3:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. Roger McDonald and Rev. Kenneth Jennings officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 until 3 P.M. at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Horizon Baptist Fellowship or the Gideon Memorial Bible fund.
