Mrs. Rosemary McWhorter James
MRS. ROSEMARY McWHORTER JAMES, age 89, of Virginia Drive-Summerville, Georgia passed away Thursday morning in a local health care. Affectionately known as “Miss RoseMary”, she was born in Henrietta, N.C. to the late Grady and Lola Belle Bridges Morehead on November 9, 1923. She graduated from Meredith College in Raleigh, N.C. and taught school in Trion Elementary and Summerville Elementary Schools, and owned and operated Her own kindergarten for a number of years. Mrs. James was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and a board member of Chattooga Library; she was a member of Horizon Baptist Fellowship. Mrs. James was preceded in death by her first husband, the late Joseph Winston McWhorter and latter, husband the late Willis Samuel James, brothers-the late Jim Morehead, Joe Morehead, and Bill Morehead.
Surviving are sons-Joseph Winston (Wink) McWhorter, Jr. of Athens, Robert McWhorter of Summerville, and Hill (Jenny) McWhorter, Sr. of Hoover, AL.; brother-O. G. Morehead of Summerville; Six Grandchildren, Nine Great Grandchildren, several Nieces and Nephews.

Mr. Austin Warren, Jr.
MR. AUSTIN WARREN, JR., age 83, of Summerville, Georgia passed away Thursday evening in a Rome hospital following an extended illness. He was born on January 24, 1930, a son of the late Austin Warren, Sr. and Tennie Henry Warren. Mr. Warren was a member of Summerville First Baptist Church, a Veteran of Korea serving in the U.S. Army, His working life was in maintenance departments of the Georgia Rug Mill and the City of Summerville. He was preceded in death by wife the late Margaret Alred Easter Warren, a son the late Jack Austin Warren, and sister the Late Bonnie Allmon. Mr. Warren was a member of Chattooga Lodge #704 F & AM and the Chattooga Shrine Club.
Surviving are daughter and son-in-law-Denise and Rick Wyatt; step daughter-Paula Easter; grandson-Stacy Wyatt; great grandson-Will Wyatt; step grandson-Paul Chamlee; step great grandchildren-Addison Belle Chamlee, Avi Rose Chamlee, Jaci Elizabeth Cleveland, and Emily Alexis Craig; brothers-Robert Warren and Rick Warren; several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

MR. David DAWSON, age 63, of Gore-Subligna Road-Summerville, Georgia passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2013, morning at His residence. A lifetime resident of Gore Community, He was born to the late Frank J. and Frances Elizabeth Floyd Dawson on March 22, 1950.
Surviving are sisters and brothers-in-law, Frankie and Harold Gordon of Gore and Jan and Harold Ragland of Lyerly; brothers and sisters-in-law, George and Betty Dawson, Gene Dawson, and Joe and Mary Frances Dawson of Gore; several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

MRS. MARGARET H. “PEGGY” SMITH, age 68, of McGraw Road-Summerville, Georgia passed away Friday, October 18, 2013, morning in a Rome hospital, following a brief illness. Born in Oswego, N.Y. on February 18, 1945 to the late Vernon C. and Rachel Botty Hultz. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church PCA and retired manager of Maplewood Apartments. She was preceded in death by grandparents-Frank and Mary Donnabella Botty.
Surviving are Her husband, to whom she was married for 49 years-Tony J. Smith; sons-Benjamin (Christy) Smith of Summerville and Joe (Wendy) Smith of Birmingham, AL.; granddaughters-Leigha Cannon, Megan Vannatter, Kassie Smith, and Alex Palmour; grandson-Matthew Ashmore; great grandchildren-Braden Henderson, Noah Vannatter, Elijah Burdick, and Shawna Keen; sisters-Connie Kileman of Kissamee, FL., Rebecca Gregory of Birmingham, AL., and Rachael Hultz of Elgin, IL.; brothers-Jeff Hultz and Paul Hultz both of Elgin, IL.; several Nieces and Nephews.

MR. BOBBY W. SHOOK, age 79, of Summerville, Georgia passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2013, afternoon in a Rome hospital. He was born in Statesville, N.C. on October 30, 1933, a son of the late Bill and Agnes Powell Shook. Mr. Shook was a member of Summerville First United Methodist Church, a Veteran of U. S. Army during Viet Nam, and was a Chemist retired from Goodyear Corporation. He was preceded in death by a grandson, the late Mark Price.
Surviving are wife-Martha Busbin Shook; daughters-Susan Wilson, Sara Billings, and Angela Barton; sons-Scott Shook, Sandy Shook, and Tony Shook; a Sister-Peggy Bright, Ten Grandchildren, Five Great Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews also survive.

MRS. KATHLEEN CAVIN, age 82, of Summerville, Georgia passed away Tuesday evening in the local nursing home. A native of Alabama, She was born to the late Houston Henry and Tressie Truss Smith on May 16, 1931. She was a member of Summerville First Baptist Church and the Dorcas Sunday School Class of the Church. Mrs. Cavin was retired from retail sales and was preceded in death by husband, the late William Alvin Cavin.

MR. OTIS LEE "COON" HOWARD, age 89, of Neap Gap Road-Summerville, Georgia passed away September 20, 2013, at his residence. A native of Fabius, Alabama, He was born to the late Joe Henry and Amanda Hart Howard on January 17, 1924. Mr. Howard was a Veteran of the U.S. Army during WW II, served in the European Theatre and landed or Omaha Beach in the invasion of France. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal AR600-68, American Service Medal, WW II Victory Medal, and European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with two Bronze Stars. He was a member of Sanford Lodge No. 62, F & AM of Florida; was preceded in death by first wife the late Willie Mae Abbott and brother the late Joseph Howard. The Family acknowledges the wonderful care and kindness Heyman Hospicecare.

Mr. Aubrey L. Hardeman, age 96, of Cloudland, GA, passed away Tuesday morning, Oct. 1, 2013, in the local Nursing Home. A son of the late Luther and Laura Head Hardeman, he was born June 12, 1917 in Gadsden, Alabama and was a member and Elder of the Menlo Presbyterian Church. Mr. Hardeman was retired from Wolverine Worldwide and a Veteran of WW II serving in the U.S. Army Signal Core. He was preceded in death by his wife, the late Bonnie Cavin Hardeman, on November 30, 2000.
Surviving are Granddaughters: Vickie Balliet and Laura Cleckner both of Chesapeake, VA; Grandsons: Markham Tate of Cary, N.C., Aubrey Purcell of Greensboro, GA. and Gordon Yarbrough, Jr. of Cloudland, Step-daughter June Yarbrough of Summerville. Eight Great Grandchildren, several Nieces and Nephews also survive.
