Mr. William H. (Billy) Parker

MR. WILLIAM H. (BILLY) PARKER, age 88, of Dovers Cut Road, Lyerly, Georgia, passed away Sunday afternoon, November 11, 2018, in a Rome hospital.   A native of Chattooga County, he was born to the late DeForest and Clara Sprayberry Parker on August 30, 1930.  Mr. Parker was retired from Inland Container, a Veteran of the Korean Conflict, and a member of Berea Church of Christ.  He was preceded in death by his wife, the late Maidell Hemphill Parker on April 12, 1982 and siblings, Irene Miller, Martha Mae Barrett, Henrietta Byars, and George D. Parker.

            Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Janet & David Kline, Amy Jo Parker, and Jennifer Marie & Andy Ussery; grandchildren, Gavin and Kara Ussery; daughter-at-heart, Elaine Webb; sister-in-law, Elaine Holden; several nieces and nephews.

            Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 17th, at 11:00 A.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Ministers Roger Jones and Berlen Murphy officiating, interment in Summervile Cemetery with Military Honors by American Legion Shanklin/Attaway Post #5 Rome Georgia. Active Pallbearers, Parker Barrett, Joe Reed, Larry Weesner, Vergil Tudor, Andrew Campbell, and Ralph Sentell; Honorary Pallbearers, members of Berea Church of Christ, Roxie Weesner, Jamie Weesner, the following “Trade Day Friends”, Donnie and Lynn Arrington, Ricky Howell, Johnny Reynolds, Jessie Bankston, Dempsey Lawson, Sonny Reynolds, Wes Love, Tony Johnson, and Earle Rainwater.  The family will receive friends Friday, November 16th, at the funeral home from 6 until 8 P.M.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Red Clay Horse Rescue, P. O. Box 1012, Lyerly, Georgia, 30730.

            Earle Rainwater Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for Mr. William H. (Billy) Parker, who passed away Sunday.
