MR. ANTHONY (TONY) SMITH, SR., age 72, of McGraw Road,
Summerville, Georgia passed away Thursday, November 22, 2018, in Rome, Georgia,
surrounded by his loving Family. Born on
December 24, 1945 in Newnan, Georgia, He was a son, of 14 children, of the late
of Bird Berry and Ollie Mae Landers Smith.
Mr. Smith was a member of the First Baptist Church of Newnan, Georgia,
and was a manager/salesman holding numerous positions in this area. He was preceded in death by his wife the late
Margaret “Peggy” Smith in October, 2013.
Surviving
are sons, Anthony Joseph (Joe) Smith, Jr. of Birmingham, AL. and Benjamin Smith
of Trion; sister, Sandra Brown of Newnan; brothers, Jack Smith and Jett Smith
both of Newnan; grandchildren, Leigha Cannon, Kathryn Smith, Megan Martin, Alexandria
Palmer; great grandchildren, Branden, Noah, Elijah, Shawna, Briellah, Emerson,
and Dylann; several special Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral
services will be held Sunday at 3:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel
of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home, with Randy Martin, Gordon Little, and Earl
Parris officiating, interment in Summerville Cemetery. Active Pallbearers Tim Fulmer, Earl Parris,
Fred Lawson, Bill Hubbard, Jett Smith, Jr., John Agnew, Dan Little, and Gordon
Little. The Family will receive friends
Sunday from 1 until 3 P.M., at the Funeral Home.
