Mrs. Rita Dell Rowe Greer

MRS. RITA DELL ROWE GREER, age 87, of Rome, Georgia, passed away Wednesday evening, September 29, 2021. She was born in Carbon Hill, Alabama on December 2, 1933 to the late Olan Ray and Wilma Gray Rowe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, the late William Preston (Bill) Greer and brother-in-law, the late Hugh Bohannon. Mrs. Greer was raised in Palestine, Arkansas and has always had an affection for Palestine. She moved to Georgia in 1960. Mrs. Greer was a member of the Rome Church of Christ. She was totally devoted to her family, loved to prepare meals, was an excellent seamstress, loved to read, and had an affection for flowers and butterflies.

Surviving are daughters and spouses, Wilma and Terry Maynard and Gail and Mike Burnett; sons and spouses, Preston and Kaye Greer and Ashley Greer; grandchildren, Cathie (Wade) Nolan, Will Greer, Magan Greer, Kailen Greer, Dillon Greer, Kellie Martin; great grandchildren, Eli, Ansley, Ian Nolan, and Michael Martin; sister, Carol (Jim) Barry; brother, Jimmy (Barbara) Rowe; sister-in-law, Mary Louise Bohannon; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Nancy and Ralph Mann; several Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 2nd, at 2:00 p.m. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Minister David O’Connell and Minister Steve Rogers officiating, interment in Lyerly Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be Will Greer, Dillon Greer, Wade Nolan, Jon Barry, Will Humphries, and Jacob Mizell. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, Friday from 5 until 7 p.m. Flowers are accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Rainbow Omega, P.O. Box 740, Eastaboga, Alabama 36260 or Georgia Agape, #3094 Mercer University Dr., Suite #200, Atlanta, GA. 30341.
