Ms. Jacqueline Kay Bates, age 58, of James Street, Summerville, Georgia, passed away Monday evening, January 22, 2024, at her residence following an illness. A native Chattooga Countian, she was a daughter of the late Kenneth Edward Bates, Sr. and Mary Ruth Bing Bates. Kay was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by Kenneth Edward Bates, Sr., grandparents, Lum and Hettie Mae Bing; siblings, Becky Brown, Linda Joan Hathcock, and Mary Opal Kirby.
Surviving are fiance’, Jerome Morris Rampey; children, Joshua Bates, Crystal Bates, Zackery Bates, Sr., Jasmine Rampey, Justice Rampey; sisters, Tina Hearlson (Gerald), Nelda Lindsey, Denise Ramey (John Paul), Lisa Knowles, Marie Fair (Larry), Deborah Terry, Alecia McGuire, Jane Price, Kathy Terry (Ray Bridges)Tonya Dawson (Wesley); brothers, Kenneth Bates, Jr., Danny Colbert, Michael Colbert, Dale Colbert, Randy Bates, and Chance Bates; grandbabies, Brittley & Bentley Brown, Zachery Jr. & Analeyse Bates, Ellie Prince, Waylon Bates, Tia Ann Teems, Crimson and Karen Bates, Christian Sanders, Alivia Williams, R. J. Kinney, Madi & Monti Bumpass.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, January 25th, at 2:00 p.m. at Kay’s residence, with Family and Friends speaking. Active Pallbearers, Bobby Jones, Steven Hamby, Colton Kirby, Timothy Evans, Jason Baker, Jerry Christopher Rollison, Mandie McMichael, and Timothy Holtzen. The Family will receive friends Wednesday evening after 5 p.m. at the residence #541 James Street, Summerville, Georgia.
